Nowadays, most people in the world have their own vehicles. This is because of our country has become more forward as this is the era of millennium. So, the transport has also increase day by day as most of the teenagers also have their own transport and want to ride their own transport to make them easy to go from one place to another place. The sales of transport also dramatically increase as more users buy their own transportation. The road deaths index that was taken from the official website of The Road Safety Department show that they were 2789 deaths reported. This is because of many people using transportation but did not aware about the safety rules at the highway and other reasons. When using public transport it has their own safety rules same goes when using our own vehicles so that we can safely arrive to our destiny. It’s had their own advantages and disadvantages when using public transport or our own transportation. So what will I choose whether the public …show more content…
This is because the carbon monoxide from the cause of using fuel from petrol produced carbon monoxide that is not good for our health and will make disaster to our mother earth. Most road transport use petrol to move, the smoke from the burning process in vehicles to make it change to fuel produced carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide from the vehicle’s smoke can course greenhouse effect and make the temperature of our earth become increase from bad to worse. When we use our own transport, it will produce a huge amount of carbon monoxide and it’s also can course air pollution. When the air contaminated, it will cause disease to human such as can get cough and will make the patient of heart disease become worse. So, when we use the public transport, we can reduce the number of vehicles use on the road. From that, we must use public transport to reduce
Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start making a difference to this problem. In order to start making a difference, the federal government should increase gasoline tax by one dollar a gallon. Fifty percent of this dollar will go towards public transportation, since passenger cars and trucks are a major contribution towards air pollution, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, E.P.A (10/4, http://www.epa.gov/autoemissions/emsns.html). Due to the expected increase after this is put forth, the remaining fifty percent of the dollar will go towards safety on these transits. When public transportation increases, air pollution will decrease, which will lessen the harmful health risks towards the environment.
The first factor is the excessive use of SUVs and cars. Vehicle has played an important role in the US because of its use of connecting people to anyplace. As “America's population of automobiles & drivers are increasing” (Davis), it’s true that every households has the average of 2 or 3 cars in their garage. It means most of people have their own car. In developed country like US, there is high level of activities that requires people to move around a lot. They like to use cars as their favorite transportation even if it just takes 5 minutes to go to Wal-Mart or grocery, then cars become necessary in their life. Whenever cars are turned on, they pollute. The author of “Car, Pollution and Environment” lets us know that cars harm the air by releasing “30 percent of the carbon dioxide” from “the combustion system” (“Car, Pollution and Environment”). Then, just imagine millions cars are running on the way everyday to see how much it affects our environment. In addition, with their bigger size, weight and guzzling engine, SUVs are more likely to burn more gas than cars do. For example, one article reported that “a new Dodge Durango sports utility vehicle (with a 5.9 liter engine) that gets 12 miles per gallon in the city will emit an estimated 800 pounds of carbon dioxide over a distance of 500 city miles. […] A ...
The first major concern with usage of cars is our habitat is being polluted with the green house gases and many other harmful toxins. Greenhouse and other harmful toxins can leave a lasting effect on the environment and on the human body. In the article “The End of a Car Culture” by Elisabeth Rosenthal it says that cars “—it will have beneficial implications for carbon emissions and the environment, since transportation is the second largest source of America’s emissions, just behind power plants.” This shows how much of an effect the cars have and if we use less of them how it will be beneficial. In the article “ Paris bans driving due to smog” by Robert Duffer it show that Paris added a ban on cars due to smog in the area. Later it states
If progress is made toward making cars and trucks continuously more and more environmentally friendly, then the biggest source of harmful emission into the atmosphere will be put to a stop. On average, for each mile driven in a standard vehicle, 411 grams of carbon dioxide are emitted into the atmosphere, this equates to roughly 4.7 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, whereas a car that operates fully on electricity releases no tailpipe emissions into the atmosphere(EPA, 1). As this staggering
Transportation is an ever-growing sector in our society today. Because of the bustling city life we have today, most of us use transportation means to get from one place to another. Generally, road transportation comprised of nearly 40% of all energy sector emissions. While road transports in 2012 were up by 68% over 1990 levels, the trend has been flat ever since 2007. This flat trend in transport activity combined with improving efficiency. Transport of passenger and freight by rail is less carbon intensive than by road (Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment New Zealand 1 and 6)
Many hazardous pollutants escape from the internal combustion of the engine. Conventional gas powered vehicles use irreplaceable fossil fuels to run. When burned, these fossil fuels create numerous toxins like carbon dioxide (Larminie 246). Carbon dioxide is considered the main greenhouse gas that creates the foundation for global warming (hybridcars.com, pollutants). This harmful pollutant may not have a serious effect on people at first, but it does have consequential effects on the environment that in turn put people in danger (Nutramed.com). The major consequence caused by global warming is the rise in average temperature. This results in a domino...
By carpooling it helps to reduce number of cars on the road thus, reducing emission of harmful gases into the air. Based on the Air pollution and Death Due to Cardiovascular Diseases by Rashidi and his team, state that transportation causes 56% of air pollution. If the harmful gases are too concentrated, it may cause illnesses towards living things like human, animals and plants. Although plants use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis process but it can no longer stand if the CO2 gas or known as greenhouse gas exceeding the needs. When the greenhouse gases are too concentrated it may cause global warming to the Earth. This can be a serious problem because Earth is the place where we are living. We need more oxygento inhale and survive healthily. The traffic congestion can also be keeping to the minimum if cars numbers getting lesser and lesser. So, less time needed to reach destination
Although there are laws to prevent road accidents decrease in the number of fatalities is not to be seen. With the major persons being large sized vehicles such as trucks, buses or mini-buses, (bus & luxurious buses 33%, trucks 27%) and in fatal accidents their shares are 35%and 29% respectively. This group of vehicles is particularly over involved in pedestrian accidents accounting for about 68 percent (bus/minibus 38%, trucks 30%). For the case of death due to road traffic accident, the share of buses and trucks are nearly 70 percent (bus/minibus 36%, trucks 24%) and for pedestrian about 72 percent (bus/minibus 40%,
The activities of the road transportation was release millions tons of gases each year into the atmosphere and our planet. The gases was include
We all use vehicles for transportation. People usually go to their desired destination either by driving their own cars or traveling in public transportation. Actually, it might be tough to choose that which one is the best selection for people to travel. Many people choose one of them according to their comfort while traveling and both of them have advantages and disadvantages in different conditions. Public transportation and driving own car both shares differences and similarities in many aspects, such as facility, cost, and comfort as well as traffic jam and accident occurrence.
Around the world intermodal transportation has evolved over time. When looking into the aspects of ports and terminals that support the transportation, logistics, as well as the overall supply chain in business today have been founded to have served as beneficial throughout time. Though this may be true, there too have been many ongoing issues with the advancements on technological implementation over the years. Thus fourth, this delay in advancements has caused many ports that were once able to distribute goods turned into holding facilities for those goods instead. This raises the question of how can these non-hub ports support the challenges faces as intermodal transportation grown more and more? In this paper I will determine the underlying
The history of transportation in the United States has been unquestionably a story of advancement. From the Ordinary bicycles also known as the “high wheeler” to the electric starters for automobiles. Many advance innovations were produced to improve urban transit between the years 1860 -1930 in both Europe and the United States. Throughout the period of development, class, race, and gender mattered because everyone were being impacted by the new inventions. Each new mobility production brought new experiences and new means for traveling. Once bicycles and cars were invented, it was about speed, adventure and who was able to go furthest.
In this article we are going to look at public transport via the private vehicle. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, yet routine and personal circumstances will often define which is the most appropriate to your lifestyle.
First of the difference between public transportation and private car is convenience in travel. There are many type of transportations that people can choose to travelling such as bus and van. People can save time to go work in morning and to back when they finished working. Even though, people have to go to work in a crowded bus, people can avoid and also less traffic jams from using their own car on the road. If they go to work or somewhere by private car, they will get serious when they get stick in their car for a long time. People do not have to find parking when they go out to work or shopping. Moreover, public transportation saves environment because it helps people decrease air pollution from using private car.
Transportation is one of the basic necessities of human civilization. If there is no transportation on land, sea, or air, there may not be communication between human beings on this planet. But there are also side effects of transportation, which includes pollution. Pollution means the harmful wastes produced by humans which damage our environment in many ways.
