RFID TECHNOLOGY:TAGS
The Strategic Plan.
1.0 What is RFID Tags?
 Radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags are the important aspect of this the Library RFID Management System. RFID system commonly store and retrieve the data in the suitable transponder or more commonly known as tag which is machine-readable. As mentioned earlier, RFID use both radio-frequency technology and microchips which can use to replace both EM (electro-mechanical) security strips and barcodes.
 RFID tags are normally smaller size making it easier to be attached to the documents especially book pages and it also have high data storing capacity that can range from a few bytes to certain kilobytes.
 Most importantly, RFID tags have the ability to store the specific …show more content…

Types of RFID readers are provided which are designed to detect the information or data stored in the tags and to determine whether the material borrowed have been checked in or out. These 3 types of readers are positioned in 3 different places:
i. Staff workstations for circulation desk charging and discharging ii. Self-check in and out stations iii. Walk-through anti-theft detection gates.
1.2 HARDWARE STRAGETIC PLAN
1. Basically there are 3 types of RFID tags: active tag, passive tag and semi-passive tag but the one suitable for the management of the books in the library will be the passive tags.
• Passive tags usually do not have any battery embedded in it and, the power is supplied by the reader which draws the radio waves through the antennae, thus forming a magnetic field or known as a Radio Frequency (RF) field emitted by a reader device.
• The integrated chip or circuit within this passive tag is designed to absorb radio frequency waves from reader's signals and to send and receive data. When the tag is energized by a radio signal from a fixed positioned reader or a handheld scanner, the tag will signal back the stored information in the item to which it is attached so that it can be easily …show more content…

However, the lack of security cameras in the library compound would likely deteriorate the well-kept image of the library. This is because, public would definitely want to feel safe and sound when they are in the library to enjoy their time reading, researching and browsing instead of worrying about the safety of their belongings or even about their children going around playing and reading.
• Public come to the library with the intention of spending ample of their time in an advantageous way but the lack of surveillance cameras has made those who were worried about their safety whenever they are here.
• The lack of a proper sensor system or anti-theft detection gates especially at the main entrance of the library also affects the people who visit the library. Absence of an anti-detection system increases the chances of book-theft in the library and the library often would not be able to detect at least what has been stolen. Indirectly these incidents may affect the public who are the users of this library and they would not acknowledge if the materials that they wanted are not
