Without going into a detailed history timeline, condoning Hitler, and trying to remain apolitical, I submit that the path of nihilism, ethnocentrism, and hatred was one that took years and was reinforced by several accomplishments on military, political, and legal fronts. Hitler came into power in the 1933 and by 1934 had complete control - unrestrained by constitutional controls. Hitler did not have the majority vote for his sweeping changes referendum in 1934, but by 1938, he accomplished several key military objectives that were very popular and gained the confidence of the German people. It is estimated that by 1938 90% of the German people supported the Führer. His propaganda and accomplishments such as overthrowing the Treaty of Versailles, expansion of the Reich to incorporate ethnic Germans in Austria, raising production and the national economy, politically uniting Germany, and rearming it militarily were resonating with the German people. My point is that the lead up to the ensuing atrocities was paved with skillful leadership and control tactics. …show more content…
When we visit, I am always astonished by his recounting of how Germany was then. Hitler’s Weltanschauung (worldview) was public, but during his early speeches he never mentioned the racial and imperialist conquest he would take Germany and the world on. (Readers Digest version) by the time the population realized what was going on – those who opposed him and the Reich were forced into silence – or die. Issues like the “Church Struggle” were deflected away from Hitler and onto his subordinates – this enabled him to separate himself and focus on his achievements, thus reinforcing his
Hitler’s rise to power before World War II was due to his anger at Germany’s defeat in World War I and the punishment Germany received from Britain and France. He also directed his anger at Jews and communists he believed contributed to that defeat. He blamed them for the loss of World War I, which he thought was a Jewish conspiracy (Jews in Nazi Germany pg. 1). He also believed that the Treaty of Versailles was a Jewish conspiracy designed to take down the country of Germany (Jews in Nazi Germany pg. 1) as well as the hyperinflation of 1923, which he believed to be an international conspiracy by the Jewish people (Jews in Nazi Germany pg. 2). On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany (The History Place: Holocaust Timeline pg. 1). This was the rise to power that he needed to carry out his campaign of evil against the Jewish people. After his rise to power, Hitler branded the Jews as
On 30 January 1933, the German president, Paul von Hindenburg, selected Adolf Hitler to be the head of the government. This was very unexpected. Hitler was the leader of an extreme right-wing political party, the National Socialist German Workers (Nazi) Party. Hitler sought to expand Germany with new territories and boundaries. Hitler also focused on rebuilding Germany’s military strength. In many speeches Hitler made, he spoke often about the value of “racial purity” and the dominance of the Aryan master race. The Nazi’s spread their racist beliefs in schools through textbooks, radios, new...
Adolf Hitler came to power on February 28, 1933 (Rossel). He rose to power using inflammatory speeches and inspiring hope for the defeated Germans. He constructed a system to empower the German people and allow them to thrive in the period after the Great Depression (Noakes). Using keen acumen and decisive moves, he was able to turn Germany into a war machine bent on the creation of an Aryan utopian society, at the cost of all inferior races, especially the Jews ("The Period between 1933 and 1939"). At this time Germany was a defeated country. They had recently had numerous humiliating defeats in WWI, and the Germans no longer had the pride they once had celebrated (Laurita). Augmented by the fact that the Great Depression had ravaged the country and left many in a state of penury and impoverished, the Germans were desperate. As well, Germany was currently a country without any source of stability without a generally supported constitution. When Hitler promised a utopian society filled with hope and where the Germans would be exalted as the superior race, the Germans listened and obeyed his every word (Noakes). Hitler fed on the desperation and hopelessness of these German people to make a society driven by fear; this state of pity allowed Hitler to convince the Germans that he could provide a better future.
After World War I, the state of Germany was in chaos. This helped Hitler’s campaign to be built on propaganda and fear. In this case, his exploitations of fear were directed towards the Jewish population and other minorities in Germany. Almost all who rallied behind Hitler centered the blame towards the Jewish; again, using them as a scapegoat for the poor condition that Germany was left in. However it wasn’t just the people he absolutely abhorred who lived in fear, people who fit Hitler’s specific criteria were described as, “ Also living in constant fear of doing or saying anything wrong...” (MacKenzie). Anyone who spoke against anything Hitler believed was instantly painted a target, also any connection with the groups he was opposed to was not taken lightly. So not only did Hitler evolve fear into total paranoia, but into a complete psychological control system over the whole nation. Consequently, this power lead to the demise of millions of innocent
Adolf Hitler, an Austrian born German politician, a once decorated World War I veteran, the leader of Nazi Germany, the man responsible for the holocaust and millions of deaths, is without a doubt the most hated man of the 20th Century and arguably throughout the entire history of the human race. Adolf Hitler did many things throughout his lifetime that have affected the outcome of the world today, such as what he did to the Jewish people or how he attempted and almost succeeded in conquering the world. Most people know the main things that Hitler did because of how much they affected the world, but not as many people understand exactly how it was that this man rose to power in the first place. Adolf Hitler rose to power very quickly because
Have you ever learned anything about WWII? If you have there are many new things that you may learn in this paper. Adolf hitler was a young boy that was very close to his mother. His mother got sick and she had to go to the hospital for treatment. The doctor gave his mother a deadly treatment instead of the helpful kind and killed her. Adolf was close to this doctor as well so he hadn't found out very soon but after he knew he hated him. The ironic thing was that this doctor was jewish. This is where Hitler's birth for hating the jews began. The rest of this paper will be talking about hitler's life before the nazis, the nazi party, and all of the nazi camps
Heinrich Himmler was the cruelest men and was one of the reasons over six million Jewish people lost their lives during the holocaust. Heinrich Himmler was the person that came up with the “final solution”. The final solution was code word for killing all of the Jewish people in Europe. Heinrich Himmler being the second most powerful man in Germany, just being under Hitler himself, he was able to be in charge of the cruel SS branch of the Nazi party. His responsibility was to keep the Nazi empire safe and to ensure that the Final Solution was being put to use. (ushmm1)
Adolf Hitler was born on April, 20, 1889. He was raised in a small Austrian village in Braunau Am INN, near the border of German Bavaria. Adolf had 4 siblings with him being the middle child. Of the 4 siblings Adolf had the same mother as 1 of them. Adolfs mother, Klara Polzl was Adolfs mother. Adolf went to an Austrian primary school where discipline was very firm. Adolf was the son of Alois Hitler who was very strict as well as an alcoholic. Alois was short tempered and has a no tolerance policy for disobedience. Alois used a physical form of corporal punishment when disciplining his children, including Adolf. Adolf was a singer in his church and had a pleasant voice. At times, Adolf would pretend to be a priest and thought about pursing
There was a man who killed millions of people, he was so powerful he destroyed a nation. He could kill and do whatever he wanted. This man's name was Adolf Hitler.
The Hitler’s political views is National Socialism. It is a political system that advocated totalitarianism control over all aspects of the state. In addition, the party was nationalistic and strongly against internationalism and assimilation of any foreign cultures. Hitler spoke out on his views against the Jews and managed to convince others that there is no space for foreigners in Germany. He also emphasized that Germany could not could not accept others, and if they do so, their identity will be compromised, and not be considered “real Germans” (1923).
Today I will talk about Adolf Hitler that had a different life than the other people while he grows up in his childhood, teenage, adult years, world war 2 and why he decided to end his life.
In the beginning of 1938 for the second time in four years Germany took over Austria with some violence and joined Austria to the Nazis. On March 12th Hitler started puting German troops into Austria. Austria then was a federal state of Germany. Then the Allied powers won world war 2 and re created Austria from Nazi Germany and what happened to Germany. Schuschnigg was then free from prison when Austria was freed from the Nazi.
Young Adolf Hitler at age 18 with all his inheritance in hand left his sick mother in Austria to apply to Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. After taking the entry example he was struck with grief as he was rejected. He went back to confront the leaders and was told he has no respect for the human form and they were not interested in having a high school dropout attend there fine academy. Heart broken and drained he headed back home only to stay with his dying mother, making the situation a lot worst. The doctor prescribed her Iodoform that actually quicken her death. That doctor happen to be jewish. After his mother's death he moved back to Vienna, homeless and alone on a park bench.
...tish, etc., but rather in the strength and the unity of his own nationality” (Hitler 384-385). Hitler bluntly states that German’s were mistreated and are “clearly” the most distinguished race, but have the blunders of the inferior people to thank for the loss of the first world war. This book was the start of his influence, with the printer press still on the rise, it helped spread his word. Hitler, a great orator, gave speeches, ran politically, connected with people, used the economy as an argument for his ideas, spread propaganda, and used the guilt of the harsh punishment to receive appeasement. Death narrates some statistics, “ In 1933, 90 percent of Germans showed unflinching support for Adolf Hitler. That leaves 10 percent who didn’t,” (Zusak 63). Hitler had taken control, and no one had been able to stop him, he had used a simple tool to take on the world.
Hitler was very clever in getting the German people on his side, and he mainly did this by using lots and lots of propaganda. He used the germans as scapegoats, and blamed them for the economical crisis that Germany was in, but just this alone wouldn’t have worked. He needed something to back him up, to prove him right, and for that he used made up films, newspaper articles, any form of media he could get his hands on. Nearly everyone in Germany was on Hitler’s side, when Herschel Grynszpan shot and killed Ernst Von Rath. This provided everyone with the proof they desperately needed to decide that Jews were bad, and thus the first major act of persecution and isolation happened (Kristallnacht). Propaganda combined with the little help they were given was what got people on their side and kept them on their
