Germeny surrendered in the first worls war; many soilders, of course, were injured or killed. One of those soilders was Adolf Hitler. Hitler had been injured twice, and was recovering from the second injury he had aquired when the surrender had happened. He was a soilder for germeny in World War two, although he was austrian. He also was not very happy with the way the war had turned out for 'his' country. Hitler joined the political crowd and began to work his way up the political ladder. At one point, he tried to overthrow the government! That landed him in jail; even though his sentence was five years, he was only in jail for nine months. But during that time he had written a book tittled, 'My Struggle'. It became very popular, and many copies were sold. Hitler gave very powerful speeches, and he was also very charimatic. That made it easy for him to gain the people's trust and admireation again. He was then also able to climb the political ladder again and was eventually named chancelor. Hitler was also part of an organization who called themselves Nazis. Anne's extraordanairy story of the teenage girls life-on the jewish side- at this time period shall live on. Her diary has been translated into sixty seven different langauges, and has sold over thirty million copies all over the world! I do not actually know why we study the Holocaust, but I do think it is extremly important! Why we study the Holocaust and World War two is really something I can not really explain. Maybe we learn about it because it shows how awful total discrimination is. Maybe because it shows what it was like forgermany and it's people, instead of how we saw it. Because America wasn't part of the whole thing, more like one forth of it all. Again, I do not actually know why we study this, but i do appreciate that it's not going on this badly anymore, and that people can get along enough to stop a powerful threat.
