Imagine one being in high school hearing the bell ring, signaling school is over. One finally turned in the project they been procrastinating, received an A on their test, and actually enjoyed the cafeteria food. Now after school, one is headed to the neighborhood Coffee shop with their friends. The next day is similar but instead of getting a chai latte, one is arrested for first degree murder. Chills, confusion, and nervousness is running through ones body. This is probably the same feeling Adnan Syed felt when he was convicted for Hae Min Lee's death. In the podcast, Serial with Sarah Koenig reporting the story showcasing Adnan Syed, who should be seen as innocence due to Adnan being a regular teenager, having a corrupt justice system and many witnesses in his favor. Adnan Syed walks down the hallway of Woodlawn High School like any other student. He was a good kid. Rabia who reviewed the case also stated, "He was an honor roll student, volunteer EMT. He was on the football team. He was a star runner on the track team. He was the homecoming king. He led prayers at the mosque. Everybody knew Adnan to be somebody who was going to do something really big." This does not sound close to somebody who would commit a murder. For instance, during Hae Min Lee's disappearance after school Asia which is an associate of Adnan saw him at the library that day. Asia says "Yeah, I was pretty pissed when Derek showed up. And he asked me who Adnan was. That was teenager boy language. He's like, you know, who the hell is that?" Asia specifically remembers this happening because she was upset with her boyfriend being late to pick her up from the library.
