There is on-going controversy and debate about the overdiagnosis and overprescibing of medication treatment of ADHD even though it is one of the most researched pediatric mental disorders. Although media coverage tends to exaggerate conflict over rational thinking, the public debate is a valid one and should be on-going and keep current with the changing definition, trends, and practices of the disorder.
