A Study of the Effect of Active Roll Stabilizer System on Vehicle Stability
Abstract
Active Stabilizer Systems are products that improve vehicle comfort and handling, especially during cornering maneuvers. When the vehicle is cornering, lateral acceleration is measured and the anti-roll torque required keeping the vehicle flat and stable is calculated. The Electronic Control Unit determines the magnitude and direction of the hydraulic pressure and provides signals to the Hydraulic Control Module. Hydraulic power is provided by an engine or electric motor driven hydraulic pump. The Hydraulic Control Module regulates the pressure in the actuators. The hydraulic actuators are used to provide a force that counteracts the roll moment induced by

Vehicle comfort and driving safety are mostly influenced by vertical accelerations and vehicle movements caused by pitch and roll motions. Active roll stabilization (ARS) in the simplest of terms is a devise that enhances the vehicles’ stability through preventing it from rollover.
Vehicle rollover is considered as one of the most significant causes of injuries and fatalities in road accidents. Thus, automotive engineers have always been interested in devising mechanisms or modifying the vehicle design in order to prevent rollover [1]. And while rollovers constitute only a few percent of all crashes, they rank disproportionately high among fatal crashes. For example, rollovers are responsible for about 25% of all traffic-related fatalities in the USA and about 60% of fatalities in accidents involving SUVs. In response, automakers and suppliers pursue design changes, which could lead to improved rollover resistance without sacrificing utility of vehicles [2]. Anti-roll systems have been widely studied and developed in the automotive industry. The passive anti-roll bar which links the left and right wheels is deformed when

Since the invention of the automobile, there have been many great innovations within the industry. The suspension of the automobile serves as a good example of one of those innovations. Could you imagine riding around in your brand new Nissan Skyline GT-R, with the same suspension methods used to stabilize old horse and carriage buggies centuries ago? That would not serve its purpose very well. Due to the demands of society, vehicle stabilization became a priority to increase safety. Throughout the years, there have been different variations of vehicle suspension systems. For example, we have adaptive air, solid axle, and dead axle suspensions. Without the advancements made in the way we travel and transport goods, civilization could not prosper the way it has.
If the autonomous vehicle possessed the predisposition to drive straight after completing a turn, the vehicle should not have outside influences affect its decision. By doing so,
But there appears to be an escalating problem with SUVs. As Americans thirst for more of the power and comfort they provide, we are refraining from using proper caution while driving SUVs. These vehicles provide a false sense of security for drivers when faced by inclement driving situations. Because of the feature of four-wheel drive, drivers automatically assume safety. These vehicles are also very dangerous to the other vehicles on the road. By observing the trends and facts one will see that Sport Utility Vehicles are a major cause of the increasing danger on the roads today.
Vehicles are a main necessities of our life, it have been with us for quite a long period; it is time efficient, but the number of death it have caused is not easily avoided; therefore the engineers have designed vehicle safety features such as seat belts and crumple zones regarding the concepts of Newton’s Laws of Motion to help save our lives.
Imagine that your car could detect hazardous roads before you could sense it? A feature that provides this type of protective driving exists within European cars. This valuable safety feature that is offered in European cars i...

The battle between FWD and RWD last for 50 years. I’m writing this essay to prove that the RWD is the correct layout for 2WD vehicles. Customers are confused by the matter of which wheels actually drive the vehicle, and which is best for their particular needs. There are four main drive forms: front-wheel drive (FWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD), four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). Each has its advantages, and no single layout is best for all situations. Normally, sedan are based on the FWD and the RWD, the other two are used for SUV and trucks.
Cars are large objects of great mass which can reach very fast velocities, this can be a dangerous combination if the physics aren’t correct. Seeing as there is over 1.2 billion cars world wide, physicians have put much detail into aspects of cars to make them as safe as possible. In the paragraphs below I will be be briefly discussing different aspects of the everyday automobile and its safety.
The best model of motor vehicle is the Cadillac because it is characterized by advanced technological model enhancing the motor vehicle’s efficiency. This advanced technology makes the Cadillac a classic model of motor vehicle. The anti-locking brakes of this vehicle enable the wheels to co-ordinate well in order to give the vehicle stability. There is also a sensor that is installed at each wheel of the Cadillac. The work of this sensor is to gauge the pressure exerted by the brakes. This vehicle’s pressure is subject to the capability of the system to produce heat. The sensor and the anti-locking system serve to maintain wheel balancing.
Nowadays, along with the development and increase of economic level, the automobile has become an essential and important transport. Also, it leads to another problem: traffic accidents. Over the last century, there have been more crashes in the U.S. than the number of the wars that Americans have been through. Therefore, people started to notice that they need the automobile safety to protect themselves. Over the last 100 years, the automobile safety has changed a lot to give out the best protection that we’re using today.
Thesis: Auto racing is becoming a safer sport with all of the new innovations introduced in the past couple of years including the caught fence, safety barrier, and Han’s device.

Over the next few decades, the number of automobiles grew exponentially. But in essence there has been no paradigm shift in personal transportation since Henry Ford’s model T. Today’s cars are better versions of what Ford had built almost a century ago. The future, however, looks more interesting. Rapid industrialization and unchecked growth in population has brought to the front a myriad of problems that were unheard of
It is difficult to understand that the basic function of a automobile hasn’t changed in the past 106 years.
