The stance which the author takes, and the way he presents information, is sound, and surely has its validity. The basis of his argument which he presents, is built on the foundation of one study which was conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health, a highly reputable source, on different types of sexual education.” The study was an isolated study in Philadelphia, consisting of 662 black children, (what relevance did them being black have to do with anything, beats me it was never addressed in the article). The experiment was conducted in a way which was statistically sound, with a large test group and multiple controls, which offers validity to the stance. Abstinence-only less kids are doing the hanky-panky, far less than the control group, which received the standard “health class” education. Therefore it is the better option, which is a sound argument, until you consider the countless amount of other studies. While this single, isolated study might have led to this result, there are an innumerable amount of other studies which yielded very different results.
