Abraham Lincoln: a true American that made the United States a more unified nation, and a more peaceful place to be. Lincoln was a man of great wisdom and determination, and these traits are what made him into one of the greatest peacemakers of the time. Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, a reconstruction plan, helped in ending the horrible Civil War, and many other great things in which made him such a remembered peacemaker.
Lincoln brought peace to the slaves of the South by issuing one of his most famous documents: the Emancipation Proclamation. This document helped save the slaves everywhere in the United States. This is one of many things that Lincoln did, and maybe one of the most important. The Emancipation Proclamation was issued on January 1, 1863. It said, “Slaves within any state, or designated part of a state…then…in rebellion, …shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free.'; This proclamation was the main cause of creating the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This was important because now there was a bigger sense of peace between the slaves, and the people that once owned them. This proclamation plays a big part of the peace that we have among the different people of the world today.
Lincoln also designed a plan known as the reconstruction. This construction plan would bring peace to the seceded states and Union, and would bring them back together in unity. This plan of reconstruction brought peace to the Confederacy and Union, because now the states that had once seceded from the Union now had a chance to get back in to be unified once again. Under this plan, Lincoln wanted to form 10 percent government. Under this plan, each individual state could form their own government. This brings peace to the individual state governments, because then these people got along better under their own laws, and didn’t have to worry about other people doing away with their setup. Reconstruction was a big part of unification for the United States, and formed a great deal of peace between the North and South.
Abraham Lincoln became the United States’ sixteenth president during a controversial era in which the Union was in danger over the prospect of slavery. Distraught by the idea that the collapse of the American Union might forever destroy the possibility of a democratic republican government, Lincoln set out to restore the union, claiming that it would not survive if it remained divided. He aimed to protect democracy by ruling secession as illegal. Initially, Lincoln rejected emancipation as a goal of the war, but changed his stance after being pressured by the arrival of an influx of black refugees in Northern camps, and the efforts of radical republicans to use wartime legislation to destroy slavery. As a result, he drafted a general emancipation
Prior to the Battle of Midway, American involvement in World War two was just beginning. On June 4th 1942 Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamo launched an attack on the Midway atoll, commencing one of the greatest naval battles in history. Only 6 months after its attack on Pearl Harbor, Japan’s carrier fleet was viewed as strong and nearly invincible. America’s decisive victory over the Japanese fleet swayed the momentum of the Pacific war.
Cressman, Robert J.; et al. (1990). "A Glorious page in our history", Adm. Chester Nimitz, 1942: the Battle of Midway, 4–6 June 1942. Missoula, Mont.: Pictorial Histories Pub. Co.ISBN 0-929521-40-4.
There were not any appointments available at the time he applied. James L. Slayden, Nimitz congressman, informed Nimitz that there was one appointment available for the Navy. Nimitz was appointed to the United States Naval Academy in 1901. Nimitz graduated with distinction, seventh in a class of 114, on 30 January 1905. In WWI, Nimitz was the aide to the Rear Admiral Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet (COMSUBLANT). He held many commands after WWI. He was commander in chief, United States Pacific Fleet (CINCPACFLT), in 1941. During the Battle of Midway Admiral Nimitz was known for his principles of calculated risk. He clearly conveyed his intentions to his task force commanders. The task force commanders had no doubt about what they were supposed to do, how they were supposed to do it, and what level of risk was acceptable. Admiral Nimitz’s operations plan for the defense of Midway was proved to be a model for effective macro-management. His plan spelled out essential tasks in general terms with a minimum of detail-specific requirements which made him extremely effective throughout his
Lincoln is famously known for ending slavery. He Issued the Emancipation of Proclamation. The presidential proclamation was issued during the American Civil War. Lincoln stated in his speech, "I do order and declare that all persons held as slaves within said designated States, and parts of states, and henceforward shall be free." The states he was referring to were the 11 out of 22 states that still had slavery. It was because of Lincoln that millions ...
There is no doubt that Abraham Lincoln is widely regarded as one of the great American presidents. The general public, when asked about Lincoln, will often tell the tale of a great man. Holding their head high, they will embark on the journey of a benevolent leader, praising the man who envisioned a new America: a great country of racial equality, and the pillar of human liberty. There are some, however, who have quite the opposite view.
As a CSR, it has been my mission to provide customers with the individual attention that they deserve. In regards to the tiered service plan that has been proposed, this would be beneficial for the company now and over the upcoming years. We should still give all of the customers the same friendly attention that they deserve, yet the more valuable the customer is, the more individual attention they should receive. Whether we like to admit it or not we are dependent on the customers and the customers that provide increased sales for this company, should receive special attention. The tiered system approach is nothing that will be obvious to the one time customer, as they should receive the same treatment that all other one time customers receive.
The Battle of Midway took place around the Islands of Midway. These islands are the farthest west of the Hawaiian chain of islands. These islands were important in the U.S. defense of the Hawaiian Islands. The U.S. force’s included 3 aircraft carriers (Yorktown, Enterprise, Hornet), 234 aircraft, 110 bombers, fighters and patrol planes, along with a fleet of 25 submariners. Admiral Chester Nimitz led the Americans. The American troops had been depleted by the attack on Pearl Harbor and the battle of Coral Sea. 6 large aircraft carriers and 400 aircraft highlighted the Japanese troops. Isoroku Yamamoto led the Japan forces. The Battle of Coral Sea was the battle before the Battle of Midway. At Coral Sea, Japan didn’t finish its goal of the mission, which was to invade Port Moresby in New Guinea in order for its planes to dominate the skies over northern Australia. Even though the mission failed the naval power was still with the Japanese. (Cragg) (Lambert) (Hone)
Police corruption is a difficult issue cities have to deal with and one of the oldest problems in the police force. Corruption can be defined as the mistreatment of public power for personal benefit or private and the use of excessive force either emotional or physical. In this essay I will explain in detail federal indictments of Los Angeles Country Sheriff officers use of mistreatment of jail inmates and visitors. Another topic I will explain is the transfer of Los Angeles Country Sheriff hired officers with questionable background. Finally I will end by analyzing the hiring of new Sheriff deputies under the “Friends of the Sheriff” program. There are several ways police departments could take to reduce police corruption. The three areas I think should change are the training officers further in how to diminish abuse, improving personal character of officers, and incentives program.

Abraham Lincoln is regarded by many Americans as the greatest president to ever hold office in the history of the United States, and his reputation is definitely well deserved. Lincoln wasn't scared to stand up and fight for what he knew was right. He was convinced that within the branches of government, the presidency alone was empowered not only to uphold the Constitution, but also to protect, and defend it. Lincoln was able to lead our country and preserve the Union, keeping the United States from splintering during the devastating times of the Civil War. As President, he built the Republican Party into a strong national organization, and he rallied most of the northern Democrats to the Union cause. On January 1, 1863, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that changed the war into a battle for freedom and declared forever free those slaves within the Confederacy. That November, Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address, which stated how a country must be dedicated to human freedom in order to survive. He dedicated the battlefield to the soldiers who had perished, and called on the living to finish the task the dead soldiers had begun. (Donald, 1995) Lincoln believed that democracy could be a lasting form of government. He showed a nobility of character that had worldwide appeal, and he was a man of great integrity. However, Lincoln was not only the 16th president of the United States, he was an American hero. Lincoln was a well-rounded individual and he had numerous outstanding qualities. However, it is important to remember that Lincoln also led a private life, complete with close friends and family.
as a fit and necessary war measure” (Lincolns EP found at Civil War Trust). Lincoln released the Emancipation Proclamation to grant freedom to the slaves in the Confederate states. Even though he wasn’t a big fan of Confederate support, he made sure that the slaves were granted freedom. Just like Abraham Lincoln, all presidents should have a strong and kind attitude. “also, under this proclamation, freedom would only come to the slaves if the Union won the war” (Civil War Trust).
