About Hajj
A Muslim is obliged once in their lifetime ,by their religion along
with their own will, to take a pilgrimage to Makkah in Saudi Arabia.
This pilgrimage is called Hajj and is an amazing journey that is done
for a definite purpose. It is part of the Five Pillars of Islam that
is the basis of the entire religion making it obligatory. Through
completing Hajj, a Muslim can begin to feel closer to Allah (Islam's
God) and experience inner fulfilment. Hajj must be done for the right
reasons, "it is for the glory of Allah not for the glory of the person
making the journey." Hajj literally means 'to set out for a place',
it's a journey with rites and rituals along the way. The Qu'ran calls
Muslims to 'complete the Hajj or Umrah in the service of Allah'.
For generations, the journey a Muslim takes has always started in
Makkah. This place is sacred because in 10AH, 632 CE, Muslim's believe
that Muhammad (pbuh)- Islam's most famous prophet - performed Hajj
with 1400 of his followers because Allah instructed him to. He also
lived and preached in Makkah during his lifetime. Since Muhammad's
pilgrimage, Makkah has been sacred to all Muslim's. They want to
follow in the footsteps of Muhammad and the prophets Adam, Ibrahim and
Isma'il as they believe that Allah is there to guide them through life
just as he guided the prophets. Makkah is classed as Holy Ground and
people go there to change their life as they wash away their sins.
They believe that Hajj and Makkah makes them a better person.
Hajj must take place at certain times because of its historic roots.
It is to be taken place between 8 and 13 Dhu'l Hijjah, the twelfth
month of the lunar calendar. If a Muslim journeys at another time,
it's known as 'Umrah' (a lesser pilgrimage that can be taken at any
time). The significance of this journey isn't as great as Hajj and the
journey isn't counted as a completion of the fifth pillar.
In Robert Pape’s Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism he investigates the three hundred and fifteen suicide terrorist attacks that have occurred from its beginning in 1980 up until 2003. By examining these attacks he explains the three logics behind suicide terrorism, the strategic, the social, and the individual logic. Pape uses Dying to Win as a tool to educate the public on suicide terrorism. He hopes people will begin to understand that it is not irrational, but requires reason and strategy. He brings to light that suicide terrorism is not directly correlated with Islamic fundamentalism, but rather political objectives, trying to put to rest many preconceived notions. By understanding the logic behind suicide terrorism people can work together to prevent it from happening in the future. After reading this book it is clear that suicide terrorism is not random, but does demand some thought in order for it to work.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar are both independent, Middle Eastern nations located on the Arabian Gulf peninsula. They share the same religion, same ruling style and same ruling religion. They are both Islamic monarchies where Wahhabism—a fundamentalist sect of Islam—is the primary faith among their people and the faith of their ruling families. Their economies follow nearly identical paths, as oil wealth is the primary sector of both of their Gross Domestic Products (GDPs) and largely controlled by the government. Both Saudi Arabia and Qatar are economically oil-driven Wahabist kingdoms; however, Qatar 's lack of reliance on Wahhabism coupled with its acceptance of its own ephemerality has

... or disobeys God’s way in committing premeditated murder or involuntary manslaughter should be put to death immediately.
Being that the rate suicide terrorism has amplified globally and has taken many lives in the process it can be seen why this issue may be of significance. Furthermore this issue is of relevance because this method of resistance kills more than any other tactic (Ashworth, Clinton, Meirowitz, and Ramsay, 1). Therefore it can be seen as to why this issue is of such important. Many have speculated as to what exactly motivates such behavior. Robert Pape defines suicide terrorist as one who is willing to sacrifice his life as well as the lives of others in hopes to coerce his opponents. Experts , including Pape, have wondered what causes an individual to take such drastic measures. Others have also proposed possible solutions to this issue. It will be seen as to what those solutions are and the possible issues that these solutions may be comprised of.
The prophet did not show mercy or spare the lives of people criticizing Islam. His views remain a big motivator to Muslims that fight other people for belonging to the different religions. Muhammed orders Muslims to fight the non-Muslims everywhere and ensure that they acknowledge that “Allah” is the only God. The position taken by the prophet is openly one that escalates existing tensions and creates war. People from different cultures in the world have different religions that relate to their cultures. Muslims should use ideologies to convert people to Islam and war as directed by the prophet. The use of force calls for retaliatory attacks from non-Muslims who may be unwilling to join the religion. The prophet also instructs the Muslims to kill those who choose to leave the religion in favor of other religions. Killing those who leave creates an example of Muslims waging war to their fellow Muslims. The prophet clearly illustrates Muslim is a religion that does not promote peace by viewing other members as inferior. According to his teachings of the prophet, it is not a sin for a Muslim to kills a non-Muslim. The heavenly rewards Allah gives for killing non-Muslims encourage the Muslims to follow the teachings of killing peaceful and innocent members of other religions. Often people rely on the prophet’s views and teachings to interpret the scriptures they are not able to

One major component to the film is the laws against necromancy enforced by the three different prominent religions in the film. This law impedes any type of dissection, which Cole thinks is necessary in order to fully understand how the body works and in that way successfully cure ailments. However, Larsen argues that although “Islam does view medical dissection as a problematic issue, most contemporary experts on Islamic law agree that it’s permissible with a few limitations, and there’s no clear evidence that medieval Muslims were much different” and further adds that Ibn Siva would have likely not opposed to dissect a body if it meant that it could lead to a potential treatment. Furthermore, Larsen also explains that the representation of Muslim Mullahs was inaccurate. Larsen explains that Mullahs lead mosques, delivered sermons, and performed rituals, further suggesting that it can be compared to the role of a Christian priest or minister. However, in the film they exercise power that is not bestowed upon them like having legal authority, explains Larsen, further adding that this particular role was more fit for a qadis which were trained in Islamic law and served as judges. The film creators possibly saw this as an opportunity to place maximum emphasis on the power religion held in
One of the most horrific acts of abuse towards women is known as honor killings. In various countries throughout the world, particularly in the Middle East and parts of South Asia, women who bring dishonor to their families because of sexual indiscretions or even rape are forced to pay a terrible price at the hands of male family members. This brutal act is most commonly found among the Islamic cultures. They use their religion as an excuse for their animalistic, indecent behavior. However, Islam recognizes and celebrates the inherent dignity bestowed by God upon all human beings regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or religion. The Koran, the Muslim holy book, is explicit in its emphasis on the equality of women and men before God.
On the board on Monday morning, there were numbers one through five and they each had a religion written next to them. 1 was Hinduism, 2 was Christianity, 3 was Judaism, 4 was Buddhism, and I was lucky enough to get 5: Islam. Oh, I know so much about Islam culture and their religion, are you kidding? I don’t even know where Islam is. I’m just kidding, it’s not a country. There are many differences between Islam and the United states like our religion, clothes, and food, and becoming a Christian or a Muslim, but Islam is the second largest religion in the world, so it’s important to a lot of people. The followers of Islam are called Muslims. Becoming a Muslim is not an easy process. You must do a long list of tasks. After you become a Muslim you must do everything in your power to try to have a good Muslim lifestyle.
Chettiar (2015) conducted a study on “Problems Faced by Hijras (Male to Female Transgenders) in Mumbai with Reference to Their Health and Harassment by the Police”. The Male to Female (MTF) Trans-genders in India commonly known as the Hijras are one of the hardly researched, abused, scorned, and callously neglected groups in Indian Society. This paper was part of the doctoral research submitted to the University of Mumbai entitled ‘The Status of Hijras in Civil Society: A Study of Hijras in Greater Mumbai.’ The objectives of this paper were to showcase briefly the socio economic status of hijras and to understand the problems faced by them with specific reference to their health and the harassment hijras face due to the Police.
