The pro-choice individuals refute that before 20 weeks, fetus lack the attribute of pain and self-awareness as doctor suggested. Also, a woman has right to her body and she should be able to choose whether she want to abort or not. The topic of Abortion is very debatable issue whether it should be legal or illegal. This essay is arguing against anti-abortion and supporting with “Abortion should be legal”. Abortion is a big issue for women and it should be made legal in all countries because legalized abortion prevents illegal unsafe abortions, child abusive crime and health problems like depression, trauma and shock.
It is only fair to say that women should be given the same choice. If one does not want to hold the responsibilities of a child then she should be able to have the choice of abortion in her options. Because contraceptives fail, and because they are ... ... middle of paper ... ...e if they were not conceived. In summary, a woman's right to choose can justify abortion, but it should be banned because it is immoral and life begins at conception. Women have been given the right to have an abortion under the United States Constitution, but the people that fight for the unborn child's rights are still protesting this right. Pro-life activists claim that it is immoral because it is simply defined as murder.
Women may consent to un-protected sex because if they become pregnant they figure they can always just go get an abortion. Pro-life supporters believe that abortions are a simple way out of a very complicated problem. However, the illegalization of abortion may bring on many consequences. If someone falls victim of rape and becomes pregnant it is not fair to make them keep the child. The mother would of course love the child, but with that would come a form of hate.
Abortion has been legal in the US since the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision in 1973, and the freedom to choose includes the rights to make a personal decision without reproduce. Having an abortion isn't what every woman wants, but what if it was in a situation where the woman was at harm during conceiving? This situation is known as Hard Case category meaning the woman is unfortunately raped either with incest or at harm meaning to force a woman to have sex in the outcome of a baby. If a woman is rapped and is pregnant, defiantly they should be allowed to have an abortion because it is with a person who has now caused psychological pain for this helpless victim. The definition of “Incest” is to have sex with members of one’s own family.
Abortion shouldn’t be used as a form of contraception, nor should women’s lives be sacrificed to bear an infant before morally ready to commit. If a woman is raped, and the outcome incurs pregnancy, then abortion is an alternate form of controlling the unwanted pregnancy. Abortion should stand as only the woman’s choice, never as a decision adverse to Pro-Life activists. Pro-Choice advocates seem to vindicate abortion, accepting that abortion is not considered a form of birth control, but merely a method of controlling the woman and fetus future. Women are the sole determinate persons in stating if they are capable of withholding a full term pregnancy.
Just like in our court system, we would not put an innocent person on death penalty. The fetus has done nothing wrong and has the right to live. As the editor of Christianity Today wrote, "abortion is one of those monumental issues of justice that comes along once in a lifetime. It is violence against children, a hideous act of poisoning or dismembering tiny bodies, then dumping them in a landfill or garbage disposal." On the other hand, those who are for abortion say that a fetus is only a "potential human being."
In most cases the child ends up living a life that isn’t to its benefit. Abortion eliminates the risk of all those tragedies happening. The problem shouldn’t be killing an egg that isn’t fully evolved into a baby, the problem should be having children but later neglecting or mistreating them to the point where they cant be a happy child. The abortion debate is as passionate today as it was in 1973 when the Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Roe v. Wade established a woman’s right to have an abortion. Roe was a pregnant single woman, who challenged the constitutionality of the Texas abortion laws.
The first ... ... middle of paper ... ...is considered murered and not the other, the fetus should have a right when it comes to both situations. A crmininal shouldn’t get away with the murder of a bay, just like a selfish woman should not get away with terminating her pregnancy because, the baby never got the chance to defend itself. Fetal homocide laws are still very debatable because it shoes how the relevance of the fetus life is based nothing but on its circumstances. as stated in a “Public Opinion on Abortions” sidebar in 1995 from Facts on File News Services, in some cases, people believe abortions are okay and the mother’s choice, while in others they are wrong and immoral. Providing the opinions of when life begins is based on circumstances.
Supreme Court decided to legalize abortion throughout the country. Before that day abortion was illegal in almost all states. Woman then had a constitutional right to get an abortion no matter the reason anytime during the pregnancy. The Women’s Rights movement was designed to make sure women were entitled to an opinion and was treated equally in society but how are women treated equally if they can’t have a choice to remove something out of their life that is unwanted? Equality means that everybody is entitled to a right without discrimination no matter what it is.
The other 98% was for risk of 'psychological damage' to the mother. The main arguments for abortion, or pro-choice arguments are that a foetus is not truly alive- whereas there can be no argument that the mother is- therefore is not the mother's life worth more and more important? This is one of the main debates that surround the controversy of abortion- when does life really begin? At conception, during pregnancy or at birth? Because of this, each side can always say that the foetus is or isn't alive and that you are or aren't killing a baby through abortion.
