Employment is one of the big things, why abortion should be legalized in the United State because most women would like to not have kids when they know their career is going well. Most women wouldn’t like to take maternity leave and have to have childcare. Denying women to have control over their bodies will probably create many problems. Most teens do not know how much work it is to have a child. Teenages will pressure their parents for help because they do not have enough
Society itself has actually encouraged government to legalize abortion. Now a days teens and even older people wouldn’t think twice when it comes to abortion. There has been several debates where the fetus isn’t alive until being born, debates like this causes peoples mind set to change. Rape is one of the most important reasons why woman abort. When a rape occur one doesn’t intend to be pregnant, and most woman don’t keep the baby since it can traumatize them for life.
Many people, such as myself, believe that it is a woman’s right to have an abortion, and no man, organization, or any form of government should take that right away from her. However, many people choose to argue that the choice of abortion should not be granted to women. Many anti-abortionists believe that women do not bother with contraception because abortion is available. One source reveals that Americans have a high level of contraceptive use. In 1995, 58 percent of the women who had abortions used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant (Alan Guttmacher Institute, 2).
Even though the Supreme Court ruling in 1973 which gave women a right to have an abortion became law in 19 states. After all, abortions became legal in only 30 states. In addition, the moral effects of abortions have risen in the past years. Another reason that women should be able to have abortions is in case the mothers are too young and unable to take care of their babies. Unwanted pregnancies can be very stressful for women.
With legalized abortions, at the time that someone has the abortion, they have the procedure, and walk free and clear, several feeling no regret or guilt from their actions at all. They should have to pay for their selfish acts. The right to a legal abortion is allowing the mistake of pregnancy to become ... ... middle of paper ... ...ose that are sexually assaulted. As for those that it is a personal choice to discontinue the pregnancy, I do not believe that it should be legal for personal reasons. There are thousands of people that are waiting to adopt newborns, therefore if there is not a health concern for the mother or the child, the abortion should not be allowed.
No time limit was set, but in general practise it is advised that the pregnancy shouldn't have passed the 28th week, although this was reduced to 24 weeks in 1990. The situations above are all valid reasons for abortion, however there are many other reasons that women seek abortion, even if the foetus is perfectly healthy. For instance, if continuing the pregnancy would destroy, or dramatically change the women's future plans, or if the women couldn't emotionally or financially support a child. Also, women are often scared they will reject the child and not want to care for it, as it was a result of an un-wanted pregnancy. This is extremely common among... ... middle of paper ... ...e a right to control their own fertility and decide when they want a baby.
Women may argue that abortion is not murder because when it is performed the bad has not fully developed and it does not become a real person until it has been delivered from the mother’s body (Messerli 4). The government should not be able to control what women can do with their body. If she does not want to have the baby she should not be forced into doing it (1). Abortions are in fact safe to be performed and does not cause the baby pain. Adoption is not simply the correct solution for having an abortion because if abortion was completely banned then there would be too many babies to be adopted and over the years it would pile up and become overwhelming (“Should abortion be” 2).
Throughout the years, modern medical technology has resulted in the recent legalization of abortions throughout many countries in the world. However, the process of terminating a pregnancy has been around since the time women were able to have babies. Though the court has permitted selective abortion, many believe that it is murder and disagree with anyone with a “pro-choice” view. Sidney Callahan, the author of the article “Abortion and the Sexual Agenda” fights all points made by Harrison and Petchesky and believes pregnant women do not have the right to control another body. In a case study about a family who finds themselves unexpectedly pregnant with their third child, Callahan would support the pregnancy and agree with Bob Thompson in

This shows that women do have consequences that come along side abortion. Pro-choice say abortion is safe, however; abortions are never safe for the baby in the womb. As for the mother her safety is questionable as many women suffer mentally and physically. Lastly, religion plays a major role in the choices made with abortion.
This Supreme Court court case overturned all state laws in the United States restricting a woman’s access to abortion procedures during the first trimester of pregnancy, and during the second trimester in emergency cases. It seems that abortion should be legal because women should be free to choose what to do with their bodies and there are various circumstances where the procedure may be a good, but difficult choice, for a girl or woman. Abortion was illegal prior to 1973, except when the mother’s life was in danger, but that didn’t mean that the procedure was unavailable. It just meant that abortion was done in secret and was more dangerous and harmful to both the baby and the woman. If women wanted to have abortions they found illegal abortionists.
