Introduction
“Golf is a world of dreams”. The biggest successes begin with daydreaming. Sporters who really want to reach that goal, push further. "They turn their dream into a powerful vision and then they turn their vision into a plan.” This is a quote from Peter Keen in the last Olympic Games in London 2012. Peter Keen is the performance manger from UK Sport. For Great Britain this became the most successful Olympic Games ever
I am Lars Vermeulen, I am 16 years old and I am in 10th grade. I also have a dream, I want to become a professional golfer on the PGA Tour. I am not on that level yet at the moment I play a 4.1 handicap but if I want my dream to come through, I need to according to Peter Keen turn my dream into a powerful vision . At the moment I play against the best players from my age category but to reach my goal. It is important that in the next years, I will significantly improve my golf game.
Talent times Coach times Parents times Money
Joop Alberda is maybe the best coach the Netherlands has ever known. As coach he got golf with the volleyball men at the Olympic Games of Atlanta and as technical manager NOC*NSF he was responsible for the succesful Olympic Games of Sydney (12x gold). Alberda was with his vision his time far ahead. He was convinced that the formula Tales times Coach times Parents times Money was the formula for success. So to accomplish my dream, I need to make sure this formula is right
1. Talent
2. Coach
3. Parents
4. Money
Ad 1. Talent
To recognise talent in golf you can look at handicap and results. At the beginning of 2011 my handicap was 22.1. At the end of 2011 my handicap was 13. I stopped with playing soccer to fully concentrate myself on golf. This resulted in a further improvement ...

...professional. To reach this level it is unilaterally important to improve my golf skills but on the other hand it is important to be mentally stronger. This means playing a lot of tournament under pressure. These circumstances I hope to find while playing tournaments in the US.
Step 3. Qualifying myself for PGA/PGA Europe
To play on the PGA Tour you need to successfully play the Qualifying School. Q School is a series of golf tournament you need to be in the top of the field to earn a card for the PGA Tour. Many players need more tries. This means that in the years I don’t play on the PGA Tour, I need to play on tours with a lower amount of prize money. The depencency on sponsors in this period is high because the costs are high and the income is relatively low.
So as you can read there is a lot of perseverance needed. This book is about my experiences this year.
No matter what obstacle or challenges we faced, we still managed to find solutions to our problems and kept being optimistic. Going through a rough childhood it is easy to harbor hate and bitterness but being able to look logically at a situation and motivate it to change you that is strength that Jeannette and I
I began golfing in the past five years. I went out for the high school team and made it on the varsity co-ed team. I was the only girl, but I was determined to make it.
One would ask the question, who is the greatest golfer of all time? The common answer would be simple, Tiger Woods. He would not compete in a tournament unless he was sure he could win it. Most people view Golf as a boring, old man’s game and
Imagine the sun bursting through the trees for the first time of the new day, the smell of freshly cut grass still potent to your nose as you tee the ball up for a round of golf in the cool mist of a spring morning. "That is what brings you back every time, the smell of the air, the coolness of the whether and the beautiful surroundings that make every shot enjoyable." (Suess, PI) This is the game of golf in its finest and most exquisite time to many people and many people it has touched in its long history. Golf is a lifestyle and not just games to people that are avid in playing. The game of golf has a history that is rich in technological advances and personal accomplishments, which through time has shown to shape the sport into what it has become today.

Abstract: Society is affected every day by many different kinds of sports. These sports often govern society's way of life. People all over the nation turn their TVs to sporting events, such as golf, during the weekends. Scott Stossel states that "more than six million Americans enjoy watching golf on the weekends." Parents use sports as a teaching tool for their children. Kids learn teamwork and discipline from team sports programs and sports have also helped many students with their grades. Kids who want to compete in school sports are taught to keep their grades up or they won't be able to play, but the greedy coaches and schools often look around grades to keep their "star athletes" in the games. Adults have been affected by sports in their bank accounts. Tax increases for funding a new stadium, golf course and even school programs have hurt the middle class Americans. Sports have taken control of small communities and soon will take control of society
Another example of my perseverance can be seen in my undergraduate grade trend. My first semester of college was extremely difficult. I am a first generation higher education student and I had to rise to an entirely new level of difficulty and competition in my courses and overall environment compared to high school. In addition, I missed my family; it was my first time away from home and my three brothers. I worked immensely hard that fi...
I do plan on playing golf in college. I have already begun the recruiting process and it is going very well. I have no idea what I want to do in college, but I’m leaning toward physical therapy. Going through it myself made me appreciate the hard work that physical therapists do. At the moment I plan on trying to play on the LPGA Tour when I finish college, but I have decided that I will see how I feel when that time comes. For now I’m going to focus on three things: school, golf, and having fun. I want to remember my teenage years and I want to remember all the good times I have had.
A: Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a practical approach derived from the social learning theory. It is the application of the principles of behavioral analysis to everyday situations, to make a patient more easily likely to adapt to social interactions over time. It has seen effective use in people with learning disorders and developmental disabilities. In ABA therapy, socially significant behavior is taught and reinforced using the principles of reward and punishment. This is why, in many ways more than one, ABA is perfect for dealing with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
I approach the tee box and meet my opponents. I begin my pre shot routine, with thoughts racing through my mind. I step back, I aim, I take my practice swing, I align myself and I duff the ball. I completely mis hit the ball in front of my competitors on my first drive of the day. Censure begins to form in my mind, I am absolutely furious. Not only did I mess up my first drive, but all my drives. I am appalled, my drives were perfect the day before. I cannot refocus myself every shot; however, I am able to persevere through the game, a lesson I have learned through practicing golf. Perseverance is crucial to everything I do as a Type A personality, because it allows you to work through harsh conditions. At the end of the two days, my coach explained to me that I can not focus on the other players or my last bad shot, I have to pull myself out of negative thinking and just do. His advice was difficult to take on, because I was upset for shooting a 222; a total of 87 strokes higher than my teammate, Sabrina. Although coach Grazier’s advice was tough to hear, by attending this tournament I gained a better sense of my self worth. In addition, I strengthened my sportsmanship skills and team spirit. All of my teammates were proud of me for playing in the tournament, without me playing they would not have had a team
Golf is considered a gentleman’s game; it requires a certain amount of social acceptableness: such as wearing the correct attire, or being silent when necessary. To play the game of golf, one must have the correct equipment, and the knowledge to use said equipment; to reach the yardage that is required of differing tee boxes. Also, as with any game, one must know the rules in order to play the game. This essay will cover the essentials of playing golf, so that one may know how to properly play the sport.
What is so hard about golf? Some people think golf is just hitting a ball to hole. But little do they know it is a lot more complicated than that. The golfer needs to know how hit the ball with the right amount of power loft and the appropriate club.
Coaching, however challenging, is a great way to influence the lives of others while also building their character. For as long as there have been sports, there have been people teaching the sport to the players and making them better at it. Coaches must have certain qualities in order to obtain success. One must also look at a coach’s motivation for his job, his passion for what he does, his methods for coaching, and how he became a coach in order to fully understand him. There are many questions someone may want to ask a coach about his profession if they are interested in coaching. Some questions would include: Why did he choose this as a profession? How did he get into coaching? What does one have to do to get a job as a coach? How does a coach become successful? I aim to answer all of these questions and more in my paper.
