To be a good educator a teacher must be culturally responsive. There will never be a classroom that does not contain some sort of diversity. Every student comes from a different economic and environmental background that shapes how they see the world and learn from it. Teachers need to be responsive to the ever changing groups of students that will walk through their door. Understanding Cogenerative dialogues, coteaching, cosmopolitanism, context, and content will assist all teachers to touch on the specific proficiencies that support a multicultural classroom. To coteach the educator would sit back and let the students lead the classroom. When covering race or language a teacher would be coteaching if the students were able to educate the class on their language or race. This could be an exercise that allows students to talk about themselves and where they come from. The teacher would be using the different cultures in the classroom to build a better community. This would open the doors for students to know more about their peers and for the teacher to know more about his or her students. The students would be allowed to demonstrate or educate others about their background in a variety of ways showing the teacher how they like to learn and present information. When a teacher shows context that means that all languages, cultures, religions, etc. are presented within the classroom. Allowing students to bring artifacts and knowledge about themselves to the classroom allows that group to come together and create lasting friendships. Students who know more about each other are more willing to open up and learn. Teachers who know more about their students are able to touch on their differences and create an open learning environment.
