With this ongoing rapidly developing in our world; the changing is needed and must be beginning of the education. In our education system we provide many academic programs to students, teachers or educational supervisors or others. It’s obvious that evaluation these academic programs is very significant to bring out better outcomes. Moreover, it is a very important part of the development of an educational process in all its aspects. At some point, educators will need to evaluate an educational program to determine its worth and to get a proper outcome. Thus, there are many committees and accreditation of teacher education revealed lately. I find this very interesting subject to write brief paper and perhaps make researches about it in the future.
There are many different evaluation standards for evaluating academic programs. Some researchers rely on their own standards that they have designed to evaluate academic programs. Others make their evaluation based on professional program standards like NCATE Standards in evaluation teacher preparation programs, or others standards that seek to evaluate the other kind of the programs.
If you plan to evaluate educational program you should ask yourself two questions; whose opinion matters? And what would really be meaningful to them? (David, 2010). These main questions are very important because your methods, instruments and approaches will be different based on these significant questions. The purpose of the evaluation and the most appropriate kind of evaluation will depend on the answers to these two key questions.

In conclusion I feel that using effective assessment methods throughout any course allows tutors to give feedback at the right time to allow the correct progress for the learners to achieve. I have experienced feedback many times as coach and more recently as a teacher and feel it has only helped me to improve and to keep wanting to improve so I can inspire others to achieve.
One solution offered by Alfie Kohn, a well-renowned speaker on human behavior, education, and parenting, suggests that teachers would give parents written evaluations of how their child is performing and having frequent conferences available to talk about their child’s performance. Kohn believes that the most effective teachers do not rely solely on standardized tests. Great teachers are able to observe their students and are able to see without the use of exams how well their students understand the concepts being taught. In 1999, Phi Delta Kappa and Gallup poll surveyed the community. Individuals were asked to choose which of four approaches they felt would be the most precise evaluation of a student’s educational development. Using exam scores from standardized testing received the lowest percentage of 27%. Evaluating work that the students have done over a period of time received the highest number of votes at 33%, while the remainder of the votes were divided between letter grades and written evaluations from teachers after observing each student (Pollard, J, 1999).
Over the years, no other objective method has been found to identify the performance of students and teachers than the results of these assessments (Churchill 12). Also, it seems that the only way to test what children have been taught and the knowledge they have received from their teachers are these tests. This fact is important in its own sense because these examinations not only test the children, but the teachers as well. The teachers are the ones that relay the knowledge to the kids and ultimately are the cause for their success. Assessment is a tool used in the classroom every day. It is used to measure a student’s mastery of a skill or knowledge of a given subject. It is also what demonstrates to the teacher what the students have learned. Educators use that information to determine if they need to re-teach to a specific student, group, or the entire class. They can also use that information to determine the rate of their teaching. Assessments are important because, as teachers, we need to know what difficulties our students have and what needs to be refined for them. While I do believe in assessment and feel that it is one of the key components of teaching, I am more concerned with a child’s process of learning rather than the overall product that comes from it. This is where grades come in for me. Grades determine the students’ level of mastery on a subject, nothing more. Grades should not be the exclusive indicators that a student has learned the information that is presented to them.
