Analyze of Sister Love story
Sometime it happened that two persons fight with each other because of a person whom they love his or her, but it is not common between two sisters which they love a person and become enemies of each other. I saw in most story the same case, which is two sisters or two brothers loved a person, but it is not common in real life. Although, the tenderness is usual and common between two sisters, but sometime in some cases due to jealousy or egoism two sister become opponent with each other.

Beside of Marcia he had hidden relation with Karin. At first, Karin gave him chances to meet each other every day and she requested to bring her home every day after work, such as she had job in a shop and Howard was working in a hospital. After that Howard accepted and every day he drove Karin home, once they came late, because they loved each other and maybe they were in the park or cinema. Marcia knew about this relation when Karin said. “Howard likes my body.” (Page 7). But Marcia didn’t expect to hear this type of sentence from her sister. She became angry and said. “Stop it, Karin” “Don’t say those things!” (Page 8). Here Karin was very happy and sure that Howard was with her and loved her instead of Marcia. Karin laughed and said. “What is the matter, big sister? Are you afraid I’m going to take him from you?” (Page 8). Close relationships often have their ups and downs. When one spends enough time with a person it is inevitable that they will have an argument. Best friends, for example, share everything with each other. They laugh together, cry together and trust one another completely. Yet throw a boy that they are both interested in into the picture and they are lying and backstabbing their way into his arms. Or perhaps they are both dying to play Juliet. Suddenly they view each other as enemies who will stop at nothing for the part. One might spread rumors about the other or sabotage her audition. Even something as innocent as grades can turn into a knockdown, drag-out, fight to the finish. They resort to cheating, or anything that will give them a leg up from the other. These crazy situations are just a few of the many examples that show how competition can create feelings of resentment, bitterness and even hatred between people who at one point were inseparable.
Sibling rivalry is like a natural occurring hate towards siblings like an inheritance passed from parents to child. The only way to overcome such a desire is to and chooses the good and outweighs the evil parents and child should contain a physical and emotional relationship with each other and view each child as equal. By the idea of timshel, which gives parents and children’s a choice to choose the good and end sibling rivalry.
Throughout the story, it has been Sister who has tried to persuade the reader to take her side in the debacle with her family. The truth is that it was Sister who caused the entire dispute that is going on with her obsession to compete with her sister that goes back to her childhood where she feels that Stella-Rondo is spoiled and continues to be spoiled up to the end following Sister’s desperate need for attention.
Since Sister was affected the most by certain actions of the family, Welty narrated this short story through Sister’s point of view to show how the function of the family declined through these actions. Sister was greatly affected when her sister broke the bonds of sisterhood by stealing her boyfriend and marrying him. Secondly, Sister was affected by the favoritism shown by her family towards her younger sister. Since her sister was favored more than her, this caused her to be jealous of her sister. For example, Sister shows a lot of jealousy by the tone she uses when describing what Stella-Rondo did with the bracelet that their grandfather gave her. Sister’s perspective is very self-centered and designed to manipulate the reader for selfish purposes. When the story first begins, Sister is trying to get the reader to see that “Of course [she] went with Mr., Whitaker first…and Stella Rondo broke [them up].” Sister wants the readers to know this piece of information so we will think she is a victim in the story. This is a way of getting us, the readers, on “her side” so we will begin to think like her and dislike the person or people that she dislikes.
The authors chose two different initial relationships in their works. Marquez uses a soon to be married couple, Florentino and Fermina. Kafka decides to use a brother-sister relationship between Gregor and Grete. The relationship between Fermina and Florentino began when Florentino said “All I ask is that you accept a letter from me”(Marquez 60). Their initial relationship was characterized by their newfound love. The story begins with and is enveloped by Walton’s letters to his sister. His sister is very close to him; as can be seen by the affection terms used for her and the comfort level that Walton has with her; terms such as “dear sister” and “my sister”. This relationship that Walton has with his sister is placed on the reader through his expressions and use of language.
In conclusion, co-dependency and rivalry is very common in the world today. Though it is not a big issue out in the open, it is an emotional attachment that only one can define. In this short story the two main aspects of having siblings is the theme which revolves around codependency and rivalry. Having siblings is a part of everyday life and problems do occur which sometimes makes a person, or changes a person in ways. In this situation, Pete and Donald are completely different people but they are in fact very dependent upon one another.
Also the article talks about divorce in this kind of society and about if a younger brother wants to leave the marriage. The short stories “Souls Belated” and “The Yellow Wallpaper” have in common ‘Marriage’ as main theme. However, the marriage is treated quite differently in both short stories. In "Souls Belated", Lydia chooses to take control of her destiny, to deviate from conventions and to choose what is good for her. She is the strongest character of the couple. Whereas, in "The Yellow Wallpaper", the name of the main character who is also the narrator of the story is not known. She is identified as being John’s wife. This woman, contrary to Lydia in "Souls Belated" is completely locked up in her marriage. The tensions between them are clear, but being a sister they remind me of myself crying out for daddies attention when the other gets more, or I feel less like the favorite.
