In Utah, men were scared to allow women to vote, because they were afraid that they would get rid of polygamy. They should have got rid of polygamy period, because men shouldn’t be married to more then one women at a time. Lydia Taft was the first woman to vote. Taft fought for her right, and other women’s rights to vote. New Jersey was the first state to allow women to vote, if they met the qualifications. Women had to earn and fight for their voting rights. In conclusion, voting rights was a hard time for women.
Married women’s property act 1848, before this act when a woman got married, she could not control her property. New York, 1771 an act that required a married man to have his wife’s signature on any deed before he sold or transferred it. Women should be able to control her own property married, or not married. Maryland 1674, a judge had to have a private interview with a married woman to confirm her approval of any trade or sell of her own property, and to ask if her husband was pressuring her into signing the document. Women had a hard time with their property rights. In conclusion, women didn’t have much say so about their property these acts came in place.
Equal employment rights. Equal pay act of 1963, it gave equal pay among men and women. This act was useful because women should make just as much money men in my opinion. Women’s access to legal abortion is restricted by law on most countries in the world. Where abortion is permitted by laws, women may only have limited access to safe abortion services. Some countries still prohibit abortion in all cases, but in many countries and jurisdictions, abortion is permitted to save the pregnant women’s life, or if the pregnancy resulted from rape or incest. Abortion is a highly emotional subject and one that exults deeply help opinions.
U.S History’s biggest problems were women’s rights. Women went through a lot with their voting, property, equal employment, natural laws, human, birth control, and reproductive rights. Today women’s rights are equal with men. Women can vote until this day, and own their own property.
