Veterinarians The topic I chose was veterinarians. What is a vet (short for veterinarian)? “Vets are animal doctors” says Dee Ready. They care for sick animals. “Just as people visit the doctor when they are sick, animals need help of doctors too” says Betsy Imershein. What do veterinarians do? The vet may operate, fix a broken bone or give an animal a shot. Whatever is wrong with an animal is what the vet has to do. There are different kinds of vets. Some care for pets. This includes dogs, cats, birds and things of that nature. Others care for farm animals. This includes cows, pigs, goats, sheep, horses or other things you would find on a farm. “The large animal vet makes house calls” says Rod Bellville and Cheryl Walt Bellville and they also said that “large animals vets frequently vaccinate small animals during a farm visit.” Other vets work at the zoo and they never know what they have to work on, like lions, tigers and monkeys. “It depends on where people work usually, but the workers come in and check the pets that are in hospital that need additional care. Then in some way, workers have checklists for each hospitalized pet, so if they need medications, bandage changes, etc, workers can then keep track easier. Then workers go on to do medication for any animals that are boarding with the clinic in kennels. For this project, I decided to take on the career of a veterinarian. As a veterinarian, I would have to examine animals to diagnose their health problems, treat and dress wounds, perform surgery on animals,test for and vaccinate against diseases, operate medical equipment(x-ray machines, etc.), advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments, prescribe medication, and euthanize animals. To get a job in this profession, you have to have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. You also have to have to take many science classes including biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, zoology, microbiology, and animal science.You would have to take about four years of college which adds up to about $100,000 dollars in student
Equine veterinarians are animal doctors who provide medical care for horses. They examine, test and occasionally operate on or euthanize the animals. Travel to ranches and farms is often necessary, and equine vets have to work outdoors in various types of weather conditions. One can become more partial to one theory than to another. After all, this is why the Great Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Whether it was intentional or not, the Egyptians created a worldly masterpiece of a monument. The intervention of geometry into the building of the pyramids provides for the early stages of architectural aspects. These days every building is geometrically sound. It is much easier for architects to design their buildings geometrically these days than it was for the builders in 2500 B.C. The Egyptians, overall, were important founding fathers of incorporating geometric complexities into the design of their buildings. Designing a building is a way of art; the architect expresses his or her ideas through their building. By interpreting the historical aspects of the pyramids and comparing them to the building aspects of today, a similarity can be found. It may be taken to a higher level, but the weaving of geometry into buildings is evident both today and over 3000 years ago.

Many tourists all over the world come to Egypt just to experience and see for themselves the greatest pyraminds, as well as the complexity of the pyramids, but there is more than just the outward appearance and the structure of them that draw people to the Egypt; the true meaning of the creation of the pyramids is also highly fascinating to tourists. The Egyptian empire is well known for it being one of the greatest long living empires. Many other invaders tried to conquer Egypt, but Egypt still remained with the Egyptian pharaohs. Even though, the empire was weakening during the Middle Kingdom period, by the Eighteenth Dynasty, Egypt became one big land and became well established as the New Kingdom. By this time the Egyptians were able to maintain the same social structure, the same political forms,, and even the same style of art, for over three thousand years. There are many factors of interesting social operations that contributed to the significant success of the Empire.

I know that as a veterinary technician it will not be easy and the recovery of an animal will not always unfortunately be successful. I will try my absolute best to aide in the well-being of any animal no matter what. I will remember what college and my instructors have taught me and I will use the skills in my career doing what I have always wanted to do--give back to animal lives.
