In 1914, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife from Austro-Hungarian Empire caused an enormous war called World War I, that killed and injured about thirty million lives. It also destroyed the economy later on. World War I changed combat tactics in a whole new way, where people would die in a blink of an eye. Commanders and soldiers did not know about the capabilities of their new arsenals. The new industrialized developed weapons devastated the battlefield with blood, mountain of corpses, and small craters. Some of the weapons that were used were machine guns, poison gas, mortars, and tanks. Soldiers described the battlefield as a nightmare. This was the start of a new era arising through warfare. A very dangerous way to bring great change to the world but was not intended. World War I brought great changes to the world but, considering the countless deaths, it was the worst war ever, an inhumane war.
The assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand may have been the trigger for World War 1 but tension between these countries had been escalating for years. Due to alliances, militarism, and imperialism, countries began to take sides as each country challenged each other in a political and economical war. It evidently caused severe damage with all the underlying issues.
In conclusion, World War 1 left the nations of Europe devastated. France and England had large debts.Germany, near economic collapse, was told to pay reparations that it could not pay. There are some people that call WW1 the unnecessary war because the whole thing could've been avoided. Even so, there were still tensions among nations. If this war didn't happen, the U.S. might not have been the world power it is today.
World War One was originally referred to as the “Great War.” The war took place from 1914 through 1918. Thousands if not millions of lives were affected by the war. Though World War One has primarily negative impacts there were few positive outcomes. African Americans finally got jobs whether it was fighting in the war or working in factories. Women also became nurses in the war and got to experience making their own income instead of relying on a man. Many innocent lives were lost in World War One because of four main points. World peace was disrupted by militarism, allies, imperialism, and nationalism causing World War One.
The first World War lasted four years, from 1914 to 1918. It was the most destructive War that had ever happened in History. It killed about 8½ million people and wounded 20 million more! It destroyed empires and economies and changed the whole of Europe. How had this happened? There are many reasons that contributed to the outbreak of War. There were long and short term causes. These included rivalry between Germany and Britain, tension in Austria-Hungary and Franco Prussian Empire. The assassination at Sarajevo of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Countess Sophie, heir to Austria-Hungarian Throne by a Bosnian Serb was just one cause - the spark that set alight the tensions of Europe at the beginning of the 20th Century.
In conclusion, the major causes of World War I were Germany’s strive for power both at sea and in land, the alliance system Germany had with Austria, and their war plans to ultimately eliminate France and claim victory. These factors contributed to a burning flame, which ignited the dreadful and gruesome World War I.
World War one was caused by several reasons but this will be limited to two. The first is Imperialism, this was when countries bring territories under their control because of the territories of Africa and Asia’s raw materials these become an area of contention with the European countries led to an increased competition for greater empires led to an increased confrontation. This helped to push the world into world war one. Including the US; with the famous Zimmerman telegram. From a secured US line in the state department, a telegram was sent to Mexico with plans to give back California and Texas, back to Mexico for their alliance in the war.
World War one or “The Great War” as it was commonly referred to before World War Two, was mainly started by three reasons. These three reasons made it inevitable for the war to happen. There were a lot of tensions between many of the countries but there were more than just allies and rivalries between the countries in Europe. There was an initial spark to what started the war but World war one mainly started because of Militarism, Nationalism and Imperialism.
World War 1 was a gruesome was with a death toll of nearly 15 million men. It drastically changed the face of every country in the world at the time. All of this began because of one trigger, a spark that ignited hell on earth. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand, and the political friction between the Serb and supporting leaders of the arch duke transformed the spark into a roaring flame of war.
World War I was a battle that forever changed society. This battle was said to be one of the worst in history. It was centralized in Europe and lasted for about four years. Initially, the U.S. did not want to get involved in this war but the Germans performed submarine attacks on the U.S. After this attack, President Woodrow Wilson demanded war. The ending of this war demolished the Ottoman, German and Russian empires. This war really changed all aspects of society including political development, social reform and the economy. Considering the economy was spiraling there was also an increase in social chaos.
World War I, or The Great War, was a huge turning point in human history. Though this war is not as famous as its younger brother, World War II, it was a far more consequential war, this is due to the fact that it led to almost every major event for the remainder of the century, either directly or indirectly. It was the first war to use tanks, artillery, planes, submarines, and poisonous gas, killing over nine million soldiers across 28 countries and permanently disabling another at least seven million men. World War I also cause the collapse of 4 monarchies, Russia in 1917, Austria-Hungary in 1918, Germany in 1918, and Turkey in 1922. It contributed to the Bolshevik rise to power in Russia in 1917 and the triumph of fascism in Italy in 1922.
WWI created the Treaty of Versailles which led to the punishment of Germany with unfair rules and regulations. The terms of the Treaty made Germany give up most of their military power. Additionally Germany had to give up conquered land. Also, after WW1 put many effects on Germany. Shortly after the Treaty was signed the German Government was in a state of chaos until the Weimar system was introduced into Germany, which was in place for a little over a decade and the system had many flaws especially during Hyperinflation and Depression. So the German people were in need of a rescuer. Then Hitler comes along promising to gain back power in Germany but started a war with the actions he made like attacking other nations and taking over land.
World War I was one of the deadliest and bloodiest war to ever go down in history. It took more than 9 million soldier lives and left 21 million wounded from the war. It also killed about 10 million civilians that weren’t involved in the war and were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. On November 11th, 1918 they declared the four year war to be officially over. But the termination of that war was the introduction of the rise of the Nazi Germany powers. The reason for the German uproar was because of the Treaty of Versailles, economical downfall, and lack of military banks.
