What is an archetypal hero? There are many steps and stages you would have to go through to succeed as a hero. A hero to me is a person who is brave enough to never give up on something or someone feeling a need to do good for another. A hero could also be a parent, friend, or anyone who you feel that has taken time out of their lives to help you in any special way that positively made a great impact on you or your life. It isn't about the magic, the perfection ,or being known, it's about the ability to help others without no regrets nor feel a need.
Since the beginning of time, people have had heroes because heroes are the people that set a good example for the public and have they noble qualities that are obvious for everyone to see. Over time people have changed their minds on who they believe to be is a good hero but people have always wanted the same qualities in a hero, for them to be brave, honorable, and inspiring. Several years ago a person’s idea of someone being brave was someone who goes off to fight in battles and defend their country. On the other hand, today, someone is considered a brave person if they just do the bare minimum of standing up for themselves and for what they believe in. Nowadays people do not have to defend themselves or their country and people like others had to do several years ago.
What is a hero? Why are they recognized in our society? A hero is someone who sacrifices and strives to help others, even if their lives are at risk. Heroes aren’t afraid, irresponsible, or frail. They don’t just lag around when problems are happening; they stand up for what is right and just for others.
Throughout this book, Huck demonstrates the epitome of heroism, for the attitude that he posses, as well as his actions and willingness to change. Huck can be called a hero for a great number or reasons throughout the book. In every chapter we notice little things that point in the favor of Huck being one. Huck does things that only one with good morals and a good heart would condone. Huck was brought from a abusive family and it did not hold him back.
This demonstrates that Gandhi showed heroism because he inspired many of his people to not use violence to solve a conflict and that takes courage. Mohandas Gandhi was the leader of the protest and he sacrificed many things just to get freedom. For this reason Gandhi’s act was heroic because of his selflessness. Another example to illustrate the function of heroism is MLK Jr. He was inspired by the method of non violence from Gandhi.
Intrepidity, An Independent Essay Christopher Reeve pointed out, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” A name given to someone who displays valiant attributes is a hero, they deserve such a title because of their current actions as well as prior. They would be extolled and respected for those actions yet, does that mean the hero hasn’t felt anything. Society thinks that a hero wouldn’t show cowardice, although there is an exception, they would never be the noble and brave person without persisting fear. Fear gives a hero their determination to be brave, to overcome the state of being afraid. So if a hero is dauntless but still in a sense, fearful, then how would
In truth, because of his confidence, loyalty, and difficult struggles, Odysseus becomes a genuine hero to the people he defended. Odysseus’s confidence fuels him to perform the actions he does, and he shows this confidence by putting it in his abilities as well as the abilities of others. The confidence that he has is self-assurance in someone or something, specifically his abilities. A hero cannot perform his actions if he does not believe that he could do them, so this is important to his status as a hero. During his journey he proves his self-confidence before the encounter with Skylla Mountain.
American screenwriter, Joseph Whedon, said, “The thing about a hero, is even when it doesn’t look like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, he’s going to keep digging, he’s going to keeping trying to do right and make up for what’s gone before, just because that’s who he is.“ This quote defines a true hero, a person who strives to make the world a better place even if that means sacrificing their life. Numerous stories in literature have heroes with different qualities but they all are similar in the sense that real heroes perform courageous acts for the sole purpose of helping others. Five heros which demonstrate the idea of self-sacrifice include Augustus Waters from the Fault in Our Stars, Hector from the Illiad, Odysseus from The Odyssey, Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, and Cyrano de Bergerac from the play Cyrano De Bergerac. Augustus puts his life at risk to leave home and help fulfill the dreams of his sickly girlfriend. He ends up changing her life by teaching her what counts and the real beauty in life.
Further, they are not just compassionate about others but they are keen to see things from the perspective of others. As consequence they help others no matter the situation. Remember the gift you promise me, and ... ... middle of paper ... ...made the impossible no longer impossible. Based on the evidence, a message of this epic poem may be “Perfection doesn’t make a hero. What makes him a hero is where his heart truly lies on and the actions he has taken selflessly for the sake of others.” As the poem reveals Odysseus foolish and stubborn action, it also shows Odysseus’s ability to overcome his weaknesses through his dedication as a leader and intelligence. These good qualities of his are shown through every risky action he takes in order to save his men and country. The poem reminds the readers of how the society has been for all these years.
