Tom hanks, an American actor, once said, “A hero is somebody who voluntarily walks into the unknown.” A hero is someone who risks their lives, for the benefits of the world. They don’t give up easily and always puts others benefits before themselves. The literal meaning of a hero is, “a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” Heroism can be defined as brave, strong, and courageous.
Heroes come in many shapes and forms, but a hero should always be described as a good person. Heroes are respected, good people, with strong beliefs, they stand up for what they believe in, and inspires others. They are not looked down upon by others, or cowards who back down when challenges face them. They

King was an African American who spoke out in his most famous “I have a dream” speech, where he spoke out towards the matter of racial discrimination. On April 4, 1968, King was shot and killed by an audience member who was against his beliefs. Although King did not survive the shot, King left remarkable messages behind that helped us have a peaceful and fair world today. One piece of evidence that shows how King is a hero states, “I have a dream that my 4 little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” This means that King hopes for a peaceful nation, where we will not be judging each other by the color of our skin, but by our actions. This shows how King was showing heroism because, he was brave enough to stand in front of a crowd full of people with different opinions and tell them what he hopes for his children’s future. Another piece of evidence that shows how King is a hero states, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” This means that we will not be living our lives if we never speak up for what we want. This shows how King is showing heroism because instead of him just doing nothing about the matter of racial discrimination, he is strong and courageous enough to come up with a powerful speech that helped change many people’s
