Time Is Valuable
“My Mother at Sixty-Six” should be introduced in Engl-103 because it teaches the
students the value of time and time management for them. Time is really a wonderful thing. It is
satisfactory as it has no beginning or ending. All the things are born in time, grow in time, decay
in time, and die in time. Time moves at its own pace and cannot be according to anybody’s will.
Time does not wait for the president of any country, or citizen of any country; time has no pity
for either rich or poor. Time can neither be analysed nor criticised. Time management is
basically planning and controlling the amount of time spent of specific activities. If students
realize the importance of time and, learn to manage their time,

The poet feels regret which reminds her of her failure
i.e. not spending time with her mother, when she had time. Lines; “Driving from my parent’s /
home to Cochin last Friday” (1-2) tell us that poet is busy in her life and does not live with her
parents. She might be busy due to her work or any personal reasons. She fails to manage time
between her mother and her busy life. Now her mother is old and soon she will die. This teaches
students a lesson about managing time. Students get busy in their life. There is a lot work to do.
Some just study and score well but don’t have a social life. Some just have fun and don’t study.
Students may choose not to attend class due to incompatible goals, motivations, or expectations
which are distracting them from education. (Rochford, 2001). The outcome for them is their bad
grades. A study conducted with ninety students showed a positive result. Ninety students
completed a time-management survey in 1983. Their SAT scores were obtained from their
respective institutes. After four years in 1987 their grade point average (GPA) was obtained from
college records. Analysis of this information showed that the time management

Human beings can be said to have three different stages
of life:- childhood and youth, adulthood and, old age. All these stages have different roles. For
example, childhood relates with all happiness and joy. Youth is full of energy. Adulthood refers
to the responsibilities. Old age refers to the time we cannot perform and it’s a sign that we will
die. It depicts that each period of life has a specific time period and, it must be utilized in proper
way. Students should spend time studying at school and not skipping lectures. They should
maintain a balance between academics and having good time with friends. Grades in college
courses depends on managing time between assignments, par-time jobs, due dates, weekly tests
and their personal life which includes friends and family.( Britton & Tesser, 1991). They can
perform best by managing time which they have been ignoring.
The poem will teach the students how to make the right use of time and not to waste it. It
will inspire them and will make them study after they realize the importance of time and know
about the consequences that can occur in their life if they don’t study. It can be either failing a
course or not getting a job due to poor

She honored her parents as she should, but longed for them to pass. In the beginning of the story she said "I had never expected my parents to take so long to die.” She had taken care of them all of her life she was in her fifty’s and her parents in their ninety’s. She was ready to live and break free of all the rules and duties put upon her, they were like chains binding her and holding her down. She was ready to explore to go on journeys and adventures she was already aging all she wanted was to be free. Her parents’ death let her run free, she left Hong Kong to start over and maybe find love, in any way possible, maybe even through food or luxuries. She wanted to be rebellious of her parents I’m sure she knew they wouldn’t approve but she didn’t care she wanted change. All her life she had followed so many rules, she had to fight to teach, to learn, to be with friends, her fight was finally over. She now had no one to rebel against, she now had the freedom to
For some students, the time they have in the classroom is not enough for them to grasp the topic. While teachers usually offer a period for students to see them for extra help, some students do not have time for this. Most students have commitments outside of the classroom, such as m...

We’re forced to reflect back on our lives and whether or not we served a purpose in society. If we gain a sense of regret we become bitter because life didn’t go as planned. This stage of life should be thought of as a rollercoaster.
The Narrator’s family treats her like a monster by resenting and neglecting her, faking her death, and locking her in her room all day. The Narrator’s family resents her, proof of this is found when the Narrator states “[My mother] came and went as quickly as she could.

Time is and endless phenomenon that has no beginning or end, therefore making it infinite. Emily Dickinson proves this point in her poem, Forever – is Composed of Nows, referring to “nows” as more significant than the future (Wilbur 80).
The problem of time management can be said to be universal not only affecting students but also other people in careers. This problem is seen to transition from a person’s life from different cadres of his or her engagement specifically from home, school and at work. It is also a problem that is internal and not external.
It seemed like a normal day when I entered Mrs. A’s AP Language and Composition class, but little did I know that she was going to assign a very important project that was going to take forever. I took my seat and wrote down what was on the board. Then I sat patiently and waited for Mrs. A to come explain what we were doing today. When the tardy bell rang, Mrs. A glided into the room and gave us all a stack of papers. She then proceeded to discuss our upcoming assignment, a memoir. As she explained the very important assignment, I wondered whom I would write about. No one really came to mind to write about and I thought for sure I would never be able to get this thing done on time. I finally decided that I would write in on my mother, Kari Jenson. I knew I would probably put the project off until the very end and do it the weekend before even though it would get on my mom’s nerves. Putting work off was just how I did everything, it worked for me. When I arrived home from school that day, I told mom about the project. I told her I would most likely write it about her and she was overjoyed.
There are many different parts to time management, such as procrastination, strategy, organization, expectations and being prepared. All of them contribute equally in many ways. All of the things that we have spoken about in this paper are highly recommended. The best thing to do when it comes to time management is to set a strategy, become organized and do your best to avoid procrastination. When you manage your time make sure you include the following; studying, sleeping, eating, relaxing and other necessary things. No matter what our circumstances are, we can all use some time management skills in our lives.
In the workplace, time management is an important factor in everyone’s day-to-day work. If a person’s time is well managed, it is possible to achieve a greater amount in a shorter space of time. How effectively people manage their time has a major influence on aspects of their working lives and their personal lives. Effective time management can have a hugely positive effect on a person, it can lead to a focused and disciplined mentality, giving a higher level of productivity, greater efficiency and an all round positive attitude in life. This benefits the individual, their team, the company they work for and also their friends and family. An example of this is an employee who prioritises their jobs at the start of the day; this gives them a structured day and ensures they have time to complete all of the important jobs. However, if time is poorly managed it can lead to inefficiencies, work overload and added pressure, this could eventually lead on to other issues such as stress.
Furthermore, Levinson classifies the novice phase into the early adulthood transition stage (17-22 years), entering the adulthood world (22-28 years), and age-30 transition (28-33 years). On the other hand, the culminating phase encompasses the settling down stage (33-40 years) and midlife transition stage (40-45 years of age). Nevertheless, adulthood is composed of middle-aged period (45-65 years) and late adulthood period entailing the age of 65 years and beyond. Some experts in developmental psychology have gone further to classify the late adulthood period into young-old stage (65-85 years) and old-old stage (85 and above years of age) (Newton, 1994; Levinson, 1978). However, it suffices to emphasize that these stages only exist as a guide to showcase normal development occurring in a continuum, since not everyone develops through displayed stages at exactly similar
Has anyone ever asked you: “Who is most important to you”? To me the most wonderful mother in my life, no one can replace her in my heart. My mother, who is very nice and gentle, helps me and has always been there for me when I need her. My mother loves me very much. She is strict and educated me to become a good person. I can’t say how much love her. I am grateful to her because she gave me birth, brings me love and helped me grow up. But you know she just takes care of me a lot. Every day she tells me the same words. If you were me, you would feel very tired. I am a very happy child having my mother. I feel too tired to listen to her words, but imagine one day I don’t see her any longer and listen to her voice. What would I feel?
First, time management is very important in a college student’s life. Being able to pick and choose class times to work around the work schedule can help the student manage their time efficiently. Also, getting to class on time and being prepared shows great time management because it shows that the student left time for their self and left time to study and do homework. When taking time out to plan the day and how the student can manage time it is great for the student to have a source to refer to or look at the refresh the mind on what they have to do next. College book stores have these materials for students to purchase like planners and calendars. Students can also use their sell phone to vibrate and pop a message up on what is next for the day. College students can also use these tools later...
