A Change in Business Ethics: The Impact on Employer–Employee Relations

Business ethics is the behavior that a business adheres to in its daily dealings with the world. The ethics of a particular business can be diverse. They apply not only to how the business interacts with the world at large, but also to their one-on-one dealings with a single customer. In the recent decades, business ethics has become the platform on which the whole business rest on. Any disturbance to this base has and will cause a great destruction to the whole business sector in that country.

If we go through the history, we had great example from Enron to Bernard Madoof. These incidents have created many laws and regulation to be implemented in the business field. One mistake by Enron has put itself out of business but other in tight business laws.

This journal started with the history of creation of new workplace after World War II, with the involvement of the women in the workforce. That whole new environment was very hard to adjust in which to operate. Many of our fathers and grandfathers adjusted well to the new climate, however, some of them could not reconcile working with women, especially in predominately male roles. This beginning of male-female integration in workforce created a new vision of the employer–employee relationship; one where trust and respect would ultimately be diminished. Not because of females, but because of males who perceived work as purely a ‘‘male’’ proposition, and society. Some resisted some changed but not the entire workforce.
