Today, school uniforms either as a kind of important clothing culture or as a kind of important campus culture has received much attention. (Anderson, 21). School uniforms also have developing history and important meaning of China. Before Xinhai Revolution, which as known the Revolution of 1911, most Chinese thought people in different levels of society should wear different styles of clothing. For example, rich people could wear expensive and comfortable clothing that made of satin and brocade. On the other hand, poor people had to wear cheap clothing made of rough linen. However, the opinion of clothing changed after the Xinhai Revolution. Although the Xinhai Revolution did not completely save people from semi feudal and semi colonial society, it broke the clothing constraints of old times. In the 1930s, Chinese cheongsam, a kind of Chinese traditional clothing, was very popular in public schools. The cheongsam was the first school uniform in China. That time, the main purpose of uniforms were to prevent rich learners from making the poorer learners feel inferior.
