Ever since grade school, I have known that a career in fitness would best suit my interests. At the age of nine, I started training and competing in Jiu Jitsu and currently train every day, hence fourth I now have a great amount of experience in a gym. My coach not only teaches Jiu Jitsu and Boxing classes, but also informs and assists others in staying fit and healthy. Sometimes, if I am lucky, I get to see the unforgettable look on the person’s face when my coach has helped them accomplish their mission. I plan to be a personal trainer because I love helping people and seeing them reach their goals.
Personal Trainers work to help motivate others to reach their fitness goals. A Personal Trainer has to acquire a countless amount of skills that include the knowledge of human anatomy, basic nutrition and exercise science, and how to design programs that are custom-made to fit the needs of each client. “Passion, purpose, caring, …show more content…

The education of a Personal Trainer varies depending on the type of specialty. All trainers are required to acquire a high school diploma and depending on the employer an associate's or bachelor's degree is needed (Fitness Trainers and Instructors). Even though a bachelor’s degree would be suitable for this job, I would like to gain more qualification by earning my master's degree. Having a higher education in this field will increase my annual salary.
The salary for a Personal Trainer depends, not only on the qualifications, but also the state or country they work in. Based on the information I found, the best place for me to live would be somewhere in New York. The median salary in Oklahoma is around $32,640 whereas, in New York $54,900 is the median salary. The pay can also change depending on the business of which the trainer works (CareerOneStop).
