They occur and we neglect to notice the unearned inequity. Even though genocide is difficult encounter as actuality it is. The Bosnian genocide was a heartbreaking event that caused misery and loss of lives to 100,000 with 80,000 being of the Bosnian culture (Bosnia-Herzegovina). March 1, 1992-December 14, 1995 35 dreadful months for the Bosnians. If you think of all the terrifying things done to them they would sometimes rather be dead than alive. Could imagine being in so much agony you would wish you were dead. The perpetrators, the Serbians were making an effort to exterminate the Bosnians. They were stopped by the Bosnians who fought for their lives. This would be recognized as genocide because it shares several characteristics with genocide. This attracted me because I wanted to learn something different and this is something that very few people have knowledge on. I think that events that occur like this should be recognized. In order to notice this specific incidence lets begin at the beginning of the genocide, conclusion of the cold war. The genocide began simply because the cold war had just ended and it was everyone’s load excluding the Serbians. They did something called an “Ethnic Cleanse” to get rid of the Muslim (Bosnian Genocide). The Muslim Serbians or also called the Bosnians were targeted but might as well be investigated as a gendercide meaning that they targeted one gender since the men were particularly harassed (Bosnia-Herzegovina). The relentless perpetrators were the main killers they really didn’t incorporate any other part if society indirectly. If they were part of the extermination they knew there was no in between or indirect perpetrators. This is a unique historical event because they were fightin... ... middle of paper ... ...any suffered which isn't right and if we don’t stop genocide now who knows how it will end for everyone else. The Bosnians were the victims in this situation because the problem could have been solved in a different way. People die for us that is exactly what the Bosnian people did to earn power. For my specific topic the problem should be solved since they got help and the leaders were imprisoned. Considering that everything is solved it make me feel better that we are a step closer to ending genocide. Works Cited "Genocide in Bosnia." Genocide in Bosnia. N.p., n.d. Web. 01 Apr. 2014.
