Anne Boleyn was born circa 1501, in England. She was the second wife of King Henry VIII. It was Henry’s divorce to his first wife to marry Anne that led him to break away from the Roman Catholic Church and form the Church of England. Anne was queen of England for a short time between 1533-1536. Anne gave birth to a daughter, Elizabeth but was not able to have a son. Her daughter Elizabeth later became known as one of England’s greatest queens. Anne’s exact birth date is unknown but is still believed to be in 1501. She was born to Thomas Boleyn, the Earl of Wiltshire and his wife Elizabeth Howard. During her younger years Anne lived in France but returned to England in 1522 and established a home at King Henry VIII’s court as lady-in-waiting to Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIII’s first wife. During this time in the mid 1520’s Anne became one of the most admired ladies of the court. She attracted the attention of many men which included Henry Percy, the 6th earl of Northumberland.
