It was just a normal day.I woke up, ate breakfast and watched television until my dad picked me up to go shopping and to the park. After we were done, we stopped at Dairy Queen on our way home for a banana split. Once I got home, my brother, mom and I started watching movies. Then we heard a knock at the door. It was the FBI and several police officers. They busted in with no explanation. My mom asked what was going on but got no answer. Our whole house was searched and everything destroyed. Since then,I have had a fear of law enforcement and anyone who work for the government. Then one day,I had to call 911 because I was being chased by a male predator, and it was so unsafe for me to walk to the bus stop so I had to call call 911 even though I didn’t want to because I was scared my parents would get in trouble or anything could happen to me since the news were showing a whole negative side of cops . …show more content…

One day is sociology, my teacher played an episode of law and order, I was hooked and continued to watch it at home. Like that officers are all about their community and keeping everyone safe by helping others. I’m all for helping others, even if it’s in the smallest ways. So it seems like a logical fit that I wanted to pursue law enforcement as my career.I want to learn the amount of work it takes to get into a police academy. How do they balance life outside of work. By writing this paper,I hope to learn what it takes to become a police officer and can examine the benefits and drawbacks, which will help me decide if this is the career for
