4-Week Training Program
I'm 15 yrs old, my height is 6'0", and my
weight is 10st 3lbs. I have been asked to design a training program
for my PE coursework. I will take into consideration training
principles, my current level of fitness etc.
I would describe myself as a fairly healthy person, and fairly fit
too. I perform considerably well at all sports and my endurance level
in particular is of a good standard. I have only one injury problem.
This prevents me from using my back muscles such as the trapezius to
their full potential. In a typical week I tend to get around 10 hours
of physical activity at least. This involves me playing sports such as
basketball and football, both of which require a great deal of
stamina. Over the course of this program I aim to improve my fitness
levels, and certain distances or times of different events that will
help me with my chosen sport, which is basketball. I am hoping to
improve the skill level of my game which will enable me to become a
better player.
There are certain hazards in the school gym where I will be carrying
out my fitness program. However none that are unavoidable with a
little planning. Since there is a large amount of people using a
relatively small amount of space, other people's safety is a major
factor. All of us are doing exercises which will help us with
basketball which means the exercises are similar. this means that the
same station will be used by different people. To avoid the problem of
too many people being on the same station at the same time I will
attempt to co-operate with my colleagues in order carry out all the
exercises within the 1 hour time limit that I have once a week.
Since there a lot of exercises which require the same muscle groups to
be used, I will have a certain order which will help me balance out
the amount of time I use each muscle without resting it.
6 Week Training Program For my GSCE Coursework I decided to perform a circuit-training programme for the sport of tennis. This durated for six weeks. I am already an experienced tennis player so this is to be taken into consideration with training procedures and results.

Interval training brings many benefits to the aerobic system. Perhaps the most important benefit is an increase in its capacity to produce energy. This is brought about by increased capacity to consume oxygen during exercise. Several experiments have yielded results demonstrating that interval training increases both VO2 peak (Perry, 2008) and VO2 max (Sloth, 2013). Oxygen is necessary for the conversion of sugar, protein, and lipids into usable energy. The chemical processes involved in aerobic metabolism are not possible without oxygen, particularly the electron transport chain, the mechanism responsible for 95% of the ATP needed to keep cells alive. Oxygen is necessary to capture the large amount of energy locked in the chemical bonds of pyruvic acid, the product of the anaerobic process glycolysis. Thus, the more oxygen the body is able to consume, the greater production of ATP via the aerobic system.
I have many goals as an Athletic Training Student, and continuing my education is the biggest goal in order to be successful in my career and future goals. Eventually, I will earn a doctorate and go on to work at a professional level with a major league soccer team. I also aim to increase the knowledge and awareness of mental health within the field of athletic training.
Marine Corps training is the most intense training out of all the military branches, it takes the ability to achieve the highest standards of moral, mental and physical strength. There is no room in the Marine Corps ranks for those who fall behind. The reason being the training takes recruits to the brink of exhaustion, where commitment is truly tested. Showing the capable from the unable, building extraordinary strength, endurance and confidence in those who carry themselves to continue. This training prepares recruits, mentally and physically, to meet the fitness standards the Marine Corps is known for. There is no other training to achieve the Marine fitness. Once you get to MCRD in San Diego or Paris Island you will be with your drill instructor where you will start the beginning of your transformation. Training is 12 weeks long, each week focuses on something different. During Receiving, which is the first week, you will go through a physical, bucket issued, Basic Squadbay Procedures, Rifle Issue, Physical Training Procedures, and Core Values Training.
In this paper I will be looking at an article called The Over Training Syndrome, which was written in 1994. I will be comparing the information in the article with the content from the week 6 Qualifying Sports Training lecture. Since I was officially taking athletic training, I started to realize how time consuming the class was. To pass athletic training the student must have at least 50 hours of work. This work consists of five days of classroom time and at least one hour outside of the classroom a week. For the past several years runners all over the world have been trying to figure out and arguing over the simple question: “Is high mileage training better than low mileage, during training season?” Kenyan’s in Africa have been running unbelievable amounts of mileage for years, and tend to always be in the top field in any race over five thousand meters. While Africans have been leading the fields for years, where do the best US runners end up? Not in the lead pack! Perhaps they are training too hard to be like their Kenyan counterparts. I think a lot of runners believe that if they train like the runners from Kenya that they will have the same results. When in truth they end up running themselves into the ground. Perhaps that is why there are others that think that if they train light and more to their athletic ability level that they will have better results.
At least 2 hours a day I will have a soccer ball at my feet, basketball in my hand, or be pushing up on a barbell. I play play soccer year round, starting with travel in the fall, then High School in the Spring, and lots of pick up in the summer. During the fall I play 4 days a week and during the Spring it usually goes up to 6. During the winter I stay the most busy with Basketball. I practice 6 days a week with the High School team. These practices usually last three hours after school and take priority above everything in the winter. As for weight lifting I will try to get in the gym before soccer most days or on any day I don't have practice. It is hard to find a day I’m not doing something

Training sessions aim to develop one’s skills and knowledge on a particular topic, usually to benefit their job performance (Hubbard, 2004, p. 124). Preparation is the inevitably one of the first stages of training sessions. According to Polonsky and Waller (2004) “effective presentations, academic or business require preparation” (p. 432). This stage can be separated into three subcategories, forming, storming and norming. Yeung (2000) defines forming as when the team assembled and storming being when discussion increases amongst the group members (p.18). Lastly, the stage where the group begins to develop and construct their project is referred to as norming (Yeung, 2000, p. 18). This paper will focus the reflection of the preparation phase as a whole, from the recent percussion training session conducted by, James Gilmore, Tik Man Mok (“Henry”), Nguyen Duc Danh (“Daniel”) and myself, Courtney VanGent. Overall, the training session was deemed satisfactory; I found that the core strengths were found in the preparation sector and included, the regular meetings and that there were no conflicts amongst the group members. Although the training was successful, the evaluation forms completed by the participants’ suggested that some trainers lacked a suitable about of knowledge of the topic and that the group should have spent more time practicing. Recommendations will also be made throughout so that future-training sessions can be considered effective.
