In this article it talks about how the CBR600RR is one of their favorite super sport platforms because how easy it handles on the road. Honda installed a V.A.L.E. M-2 Slip-On Exhaust muffler from Two Brothers racing which you can get in titanium, carbon fiber, and polished aluminum. Two Brothers offers two separate carbon fiber designs, one with a conventional uniform weave pattern termed Silver series, and another with a more intricate-looking pattern dubbed the Black series. Other subtle differences are the use of black aluminum inlet and outlet pieces. They went with the Silver model since it’s more economical in terms of pricing ($518.98). One of the coolest features of Two Brothers pipes is the way it mounts without conventional exhaust springs with its patented Variable Axis Locking Exhaust set-up. This not only saves weight but also eliminates the worry of having a spring break after prolonged use. The slip-on comes with a stainless steel mid-pipe that attaches behind the catalytic converter, behind the rider’s foot assembly on the right-hand side. Two Brothers pipe sheds sev...
With nitro fuel prices rising, there has never been a better time to consider moving to an electric RC helicopter. One chopper that offers the RC helicopter pilot the opportunity to fly both indoors and outside is the Heli-Max Novus 125 CP. This micro helicopter is a durable platform that is a true joy to fly.
UTVUnderground.com has been fortunate to have been a part of some of the industries coolest and most innovative UTV builds. Due to the history of our builds each time UTVUnderground sets out to build a new machine we go over the top with not just high standards but higher more innovative build. So when we started planning for our 2013 Polaris RZR Jagged-X Edition we knew we had to go large or go home! Right away we wanted to build a dual purpose UTV. Something that could be used for more strenuous pre-run adventures like pre-race running of the Baja 500 or 1000 at the same time still being a fun car to play with whether we wanted to take it to Moab or Ocotillo Wells. Next we needed a build partner, after some discussion, we selected SDR Motorsports out of Riverside, CA.
The enthusiast driver has to know their machine and their own personal limits when considering these two units. Although they are very similar, turbos and blowers are also very different.
There are many ways to analyze the performance of a company, some more popular than others. According to the Barney text the accounting method is the most popular way of measuring a firm's performance (Barney, 2002). Some of the reasons for the popularity could include the fact that accounting measures of performance are publicly available on many firms and they communicate a great deal of information about a firm's operations. Other methods of performance analysis include firm survival and the multiple stakeholder approach.
Harley Davidson’s approach to the manufacture of motorcycles creates value as raw materials evolve into sellable products. The 40,000 square meter plant in Kansas City, Missouri is laid out in a fashion that permits the backward integration of components within the production facility. From the fabrication of parts to the production of engines onsite, a single V-Rod is built by the 1,100 employees of this factory in less than 3 hours from start to finish.
For decades, the Bavarian Motor Works automotive company, more commonly known as BMW, has been an icon in European luxury automobiles. It has done an extraordinary job in setting the standard for other manufacturers from Europe, Japan, and the United States auto markets. But what keeps the customer pleased with the BMW brand is not only its vehicles superb handling and performance, but its ability to inject a certain character into the automobiles themselves. This is achieved by the use of certain design elements that can be traced through history to the earliest of the BMW models. These elements include: the aerodynamic body style of the cars and sport utility vehicles, the Hofmeister Kink which is a characteristic that involves design of rear seat windows, the quadruple headlight configuration, and the famous kidney grille that is tucked into the front bumper giving the car an all-around exclusive exterior style.
In society today, it is not uncommon to be surrounded by gangs in our communities. I have recently learned that in my area, we have a local gang known as the Peckerwoods. The Peckerwoods are an Outlaw Motorcycle Club notorious for their hatred towards minorities and earning their income from a variety of illegal practices. In the beginning, when assigned to write about a local gang, I had no idea there were any gangs in my neighborhood so I found this to be intriguing. For this assignment, I was actually able to meet a member of the motorcycle club that allowed me to ask a few questions, and went by the alias “Eddy”. I tried to limit my questions because I did not want to cross any lines. I decided to conduct this interview because he seemed approachable and looked as though he had been involved with the club for a number of years so I decided to take a shot and ask him. He turned out to be a very friendly gentleman, which in my perspective is what these members aim for when creating an image for the public. Below is a summary of my interview conducted with the member:
Over one hundred years ago, police departments routinely patrolled cities and towns by bicycle. The bike was tremendously popular only until the advent of the automobile. The bicycle then disappeared from policing. It wasn’t until the late 1980’s that the bicycle made a comeback. In 1988, Sergeant Paul Grady of the Seattle Police Department convinced his superiors that mountain bikes could be a viable patrol vehicle in the congested downtown area, waterfront parks, and market districts. Seattle believed that the bicycle could prove to be an invaluable tool. They were faced with problems such as vehicle congestion, vagrants, gang activity, purse snatchings, and auto burglaries. A solution to this problem seemed to be the mountain bike. It enabled officers to be mobile enough to respond quickly to calls for service with the ability to maneuver through gridlock traffic, congested sidewalks, and lots. It also enabled them to chase down fleeing suspects. Gradys implementation of the mountain bike soon led to the rest of the country’s use the modern mountain bicycle. By late 1993, it was estimated that over 400 law enforcement agencies had some type of bike patrol program. Presently there is a vast group of agencies that use the mountain bike for patrol operations they are:
This case study is about “Specialized Bicycle Components Inc.” known as Ride the Red “S”. Specialized was founded in 1974 by Mike Sinyard. According to Chris Murphy, director of marketing for Red “S”, specialized is for serious riders. He says, “The customer is buying the ride from us, not just the bike.” The company began to produce its own bike parts by 1976, and introduced the first major production mountain bike in the world in 1980. Specialized now has an extensive global distribution network of 5000 retailers in 35 countries in Asia, North America, South America, and Australia. They maintained a reputation as the technological leader in the bike and bike accessories. The formal mission is still the same since they established the company “To give everyone the best ride of their life.”
Co2 Dragsters as they are called are essentially small Race cars. They are propelled by a small Carbon Dioxide Cartridge in the back of the car. This cartridge is Pierced, and then releases the colorless and odorless gas. They are often used to demonstrate mechanical principles, such as Mass, Force, Acceleration, and Aerodynamics. Two screw eyes are attached to a string (usually fishing line).to keep the racer on the path. Most Co2 dragsters are carved out of balsa wood and or Basswood because of the light weight.
Despite their conception in 1903, Harley-Davidson and the motorcycle industry as a whole didn’t really take off until after the Second World War. Many people rode motorcycles during the war, with Harley-Davidson themselves supplying almost 90,000 motorcycles for the U.S. military during this time. Many veterans chose to purchase motorcycles upon returning home, as they enjoyed riding during the war and wanted to continue riding in their civilian life. This generation known as the "baby-boomers" quickly became the main target audience for many of Harley-Davidson’s marketing efforts. With sales increasing and the industry growing, many "motorcycle clubs" and "rallies" were introduced. Unfortunately, due to the lewd behavior displayed by most people associated with these clubs and rallies, bikers typically had an image of being disorderly and raucous. Harley-Davidson’s image itself took a big shot due to the Hells Angels. This was a motorcycle gang wishing to become notorious for "drug trafficking and other organized crime activities," who used only Harley-Davidson motorcycles. All of this combined to lead to a decline in demand and sales throughout the entire industry during the 1960’s. The industry was really helped out with the release of the Hollywood film Easy Rider in 1969. This film helped change the public’s perception of bikers and sparked an increase in motorcycle demand which has lasted to this day.
We think it would be interesting to quote first Harley-Davidson's mission, in order to get a first approach of what is the purpose of the company from their point of view. The mission talks first about dreams, rather than motorcycles, which is what the public has in mind. This mission says:
At the time of its launch in 2003, the Hero Honda Karizma was a revelation in the Indian motorcycle market. Finally, there was a motorcycle with enticing engine capacity, good power figures and Honda's reliability. The karizma has been the bread and butter of the long distance adventure biker since its launch, with hero making minor cosmetic changes here and there. For many years the bike continued to hold its own against its main rival the pulsar 220 but was clearly getting old among its competition and was in desperate need of an upgrade. Finally, after Hero's split from Honda, they have launched a completely revamped version of the Karizma. Some like it, some don't, but everyone seems to have an opinion on it. Here is what i found during the day i spent with the new ZMR. We took it on an 80 km round trip to Chimmoni dam in Thrissur,Kerala. It is a good mix of
