Equating Feminism and Equality I remember the unique feeling that came with checking out books from my elementary school’s library. I was giddy from the moment I heard the beep of the library’s computer telling me that the books were in my possession. For the rest of the week, I’d stay awake until the late hours of night, straining my eyes until the words distorted into furry lines and I fell asleep with the spine of a book balanced on my nose and the smell of words spread across my face.
