In the hospitality industry, there are several environmental factors that impact hotels. This paper identifies and discusses the three most relevant environmental factors that have an impact on the Accor Hotel Chains in Australia. Additionally, there will be an explanation as to why marketers study buyer behavior. Lastly, when selecting a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, there are several characteristics that will have an impact on my decision. The Accor Hotel Chains is a group of several chains of hotels spread across the whole of Australia. There are three most relevant environmental factors that have an impact on the hotels. And these are not physical factors, they are political, cultural and technological factors. The first environmental factor is politics. Politics affects the hospitality industry as partnerships or agreements between countries are what draw people to the latter country, whether it is for work, leisure, education or other reasons. “For example, the Australia-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The partnership encompasses initiatives such as the Work and Holiday Maker Programme, which will promote cultural exchange which will allow young people from Australia and Singapore to experience the latter country and undertake short-term work to supplement their holiday and cultural experience.” (Joint announcement: Australia-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, 2016) This in turn benefits the Accor Hotel Chains as Singaporeans will have the chance to explore Australia while on holiday through staying in the hotels under the Accor Hotel Chains, thus, increasing revenue, therefore, a positive impact when political partnerships are made. Service style contributes to the whole experience at the restaurant. It must fit the purpose of the gathering. It should be subtle and swift while making sure that all guests are taken care of. In conclusion, there are three environmental factors that have an impact on the Accor Hotel Chains, whether it is positive or negative. These environmental factors are not physical factors, but rather, political, cultural and technological factors. Additionally, marketers study buyer behavior to help organisations better understand how they can utilize their marketing tools better to maximize results. Lastly, when it came to selecting a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, there are several characteristics that have a great impact on my decision-making.
