Many times we take advantage the necessities that we have access to as human. One of those major necessities that is needed in order to survive is water. The two articles that I chose to write about are about environmental factors such as pollution. The first journal article is from the New York Times, and is titled environmental factors like pollution cause a quarter of deaths. Because of this crisis many of them have to travel to a friend’s house or someone 's house out of the city to take a shower or to get a source of drinking water. A lot of families feel as though a change will not come and the problem can 't be fixed. They want to leave but because of their financial situations they don 't have the funds or the financial resources to get up and relocate their families so most of them talk about how they feel trapped. The government talks about how they take full responsibility of what happened with this situation but the residents feel like it 's not enough and many of the residents think that everyone who knew about this situation should be prosecuted. With the poisoning of the water in the lead causing ADHD in children and also causing skin rashes to many local residents, the US department of health and human services has stepped into investigate the situations. These families are left not being able to trust government officials living their life fearful not knowing when they 'll get a knock at their door from the federal emergency management agency urging them to leave due to dire conditions. Four instance in Latin America and the Caribbean drinking water will be affected by rising sea levels in nations such as Bahamas and loss Glaciers in nations such as Bolivia. Those who suffer from poor living conditions rely on rain water to drink so when rainfall declines they have to purchase a bottle water. What I found surprising was how many US Americans drink or prefer bottled water over tap water. Chapter 8 discusses that US Americans prefer bottled water over tap water due to marketing but I think US Americans drink bottled water over tap water because they feel as though it taste better the bottled water has been purified. Therefore it lacks the smell that tap water may have or the taste tap water may have. Technically both supplies of water are still the same one is just bottled. Bottled water contributes to pollution because of the bottles that go un recycled. Climate change contributes to increasing temperatures, natural disasters, drought, hunger, migration, poverty, and armed conflict. Cool climate changes can also contribute to children 's ability to attend school it could hinder people going out to work, can reduce one 's income, and that can lead to increasing medical expenses from natural disasters.
