What I mean by different Englishes depends on what group of people one is talking to. One English can be known as sophisticated English referring to talking to a professor. As opposed to the English we use with our friends. Everyone has a unique way of communicating. In the United States, after people learn English they realize they go from using one English to using different Englishes without knowing, in order to communicate, whether it be with parents, professors, or your own pets.

With this, English is becoming more commonly used, not just as a foreign language to learn, but for education, medicine, and even diplomacy reasons. In his essay, when he was talking about the United Arab Emirates, hitching also mentioned that Arabic is their language for school, religion, home, and culture, whereas learning English over there is “symbolic of modernity, work, higher education, commerce, economics, and science and technology” (271). This associates English with a more advanced outlook if one would want to get a higher education or find better work. English is getting a name for itself and it is not a bad name. People are not just learning it for a class, they are learning it for business, higher education, and many more reasons around the world. Julie Traves mentioned in her essay that there are about 380 million people worldwide speaking English as their first language, whereas it is estimated that anywhere from 350 million to about 500 million people speak it as a second language. The English language is spreading throughout the world through education, science, technology, and the culture which is another reason why English is the best language to

In most institutions of learning today, the classes are made up of students from different ethnic backgrounds. These have different traditions and also speak different languages. In a typical classroom, the majority of the students will speak the same language. The teacher must then employ strategies which will accommodate all the students in the class. This will ensure that every learner gets the best quality of education. This will enable them to be better prepared for career and expressing themselves. In this paper, strategies to assist learners of the English language in their literal development for third grade learners. In the paper, three strategies that can be used by the teacher will be discussed. New strategies and research that will help the English language learners to gain in depth mastery of the language will also be discussed. Due to the widespread learning of the English language in most schools, addressing issues of the language learners is of vital importance. Teachers should have the understanding that cultures are what give someone identity and therefore no student should leave their culture for another. Instead, there should be the blending of different cultures so that students can appreciate and learn from each other.
The standard language is often viewed and defined through stages in its development. Such stages can, first of all, be described by juxtaposing them to historical developments of societies, as part of a broader history of the society or the language (e.g. Migliorini, 1984 and Chaurand, 1999:11). Another approach of development stages is looking at the standardisation of the language itself (Ferguson, 1968; Haugen, 1966; 1972:252; Leith 1983; Joseph, 1987; Milroy & Milroy, 1987; and Thomas, 1991; Van der Wal and Van Bree, 2008). A more contemporary and synchronic approach to defining standard languages is looking at the general qualities that the language has developed, often including the prototypical speakers to go with these qualities (e.g. Jespersen, 1925; Stewart, 1968:533-539; Finegan, 2007:14; Van der Wal and Van Bree, 1992:369).
Coming from a Spanish speaking household having to learn a new language can always be difficult. While, I was a child learning a second language was difficult. It was difficult for me to put words to use in the correct way. And use terms that make sense with one another term. It was difficult for me because some Spanish words sound the same as English words, and while learning I wanted to translate everything the way I say it in Spanish to English. For example, in Spanish “helo” means ice, but if you say it out loud it sounds like “yellow”. Little things like that will be a big issue to me. I have to put up with many looks from others and hear all sorts of criticism around me. Learning a new language at a young age was a struggle with reading
The English language arose from the early Anglo Saxon inhabitants in ancient England and spread to Scotland and other European countries via the British Empire and later to the United States through colonial political and economical influences. It later dispersed to other parts of the world through these same influences to become one of the leading languages of the world. It has over the years developed by adopting different dialects to create a language, which is the standard lingual Franca in many countries. The rapid growth of the English language and its adoption by different cultures across the globe is sufficient ground to make it the global language.
During Early Modern English period, English language developed excellently. At that time, English has richer lexicon, less complicated grammar, monosyllabic characters, and euphonious pronunciation. Due to these developments, the influence of Latin is declining. English is made compulsory to learn in the school for its own language rather than a device to learn Latin, before. Regarding this situation, the demand for translated piece from Latin and Greek increased rapidly since reading become a trend at that time.
Learning English pronunciation is one of the essential courses for students of English for Second Language (ESL) and English for Foreign Language (EFL). It requires independent learning and practices outside the classroom to enhance students’ pronunciation skills. Though, in this great technology world, traditional ways (using textbook) of learning and teaching English pronunciation is still used as primary teaching and learning method in most institutions, while, textbook is quiet, not interactive, and it does not encourage self-learning. Due this reason, this study aims to develop a courseware for the educators and learners; Multimedia Interactive Learning Courseware for English Phonetics and Phonology. The development of this prototype uses an instructional model, which is ADDIE model as a step-by-step guidance to complete the development. Using ADDIE model, this prototype is successfully developed.
