Renewable energy sources have been found to cost more than the benefits that are received from the energy sources. There are many different resources that you can use including water, wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass. These energy sources can differ in cost depending on capital, fuel, and operations and maintenance. Some of these sources are not cheap to build but once they are up and running, they have no fuel cost. There are many reasons to determine when, where, or how an energy source is used. Wind and solar power can only be used for certain services because the sun isn’t always out and the wind isn’t always blowing. Therefore, there are other renewable sources that can be used. Although some of these renewable energy resources can be expensive, they come with many advantages. Are these advantages really going to be worth the cost though? One of the main advantages of renewable energy is that it will never run out. This is because renewable energy is sustainable. These renewable energy facilities typically do not require as much maintenance as a regular generator. …show more content…

Using renewable energy sources can be tricky sometimes because it can be difficult to generate large quantities of electricity. These large quantities of electricity are easier for fossil fuel generators to generate. Because of this difficulty, the amount of energy used may need to be reduced, or more energy facilities may need to be built. This issue could also be resolved by using many different power sources. The reliability of supply with renewable energy can also be an issue. Weather has a huge impact on renewable energy reliability. Each renewable energy source has a specific weather condition needed to produce energy. Renewable energy sources is such a new technology, that it requires an extremely large capital cost which can often times be bigger than the benefits we
