Energy Alternatives: Oil
Every day the world burns more that 80 million barrels of oil. By 2016, estimates believe that oil consumption will rise to around 100 millions barrels a day. (Oil Facts) The United States was responsible for 25% of the world oil consumption in 2002, and those numbers are rising. (Oil Demand) As demands increase and the supplies of oil continue a rapid depletion, large political powers in the US struggle to keep their heads afloat.
Many conspiracy theories have dabbled in the pool of scandal within the Whitehouse’s knowledge of September 11 before it happened, and George W. Bush’s master plan to wage a “War on Terror”, with a backdrop of draining the last of the oil supplies from the mid-East. Every conspiracy theory needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but it is important to remember our past. It was only until long after the Vietnam war that people were told of the pre-knowledge of utter lack of any possibility for them to win the war, yet officials still pressured our armies into Vietnam until near extinction. In 50 years, we will all know the real deal behind September 11th and George Bush’s strong motives to pursue the War on Terror (even when the rest of the world advices against it.)
The US is a country with one of the most unhealthiest addictions possible: oil. Just as a heroine addict who is running low on fixes, the US is running low on supplies, and drastic, unwise measures are being taken in order to sustain this addiction for just a bit longer. This enters the Enron-Cheney-Taliban Connection, which has startling information that aligns a bit of history prior to September 11. The mother of all oil support and scandal rests with Enron, however, witho...

“Is the White House covering up that it was molding foreign policy as well as energy policy to suit Enron? Did the Bush Administration know that Enron's collapse was coming as early as August? If any of these are true, the largest bankruptcy in American history may well connect with the greatest political scandal in American history.” (Callari)

The official story of 9/11 is a conspiracy theory in that the government claims 19 hijackers conspired together to hijack four planes and create terror in the world. Four American airplanes were hijacked; two were driven into the World Trade Centers and the third airplane into the Pentagon. The fourth airplane suspected target was the White House, but it was diverted by the brave men and women aboard that hijacked airplane, and crashed the airline jet before it could reach its target. It was like time stood still as America watched through television broadcast these unbelievable and horrifying events taking place. The reports told of the smell the jet fuel, burning flesh, and people jumping out windows to their death to escape the flames. When the two bravura structures tumbling down, rescuers, (police officers, firefighters, and ambulance drivers and techs) were caught in the mast and lost their lives doing their job trying to save lives.
Evidence has been found and proven to support the idea of the attacks on 9/11 were carried out by the United States of America. If the United States really did plot September 11, 2001 it would not be the first time a government attempted to use false flag operations to increase their power and to help justify events. Adolph Hitler once stated “terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death.” In 1939 Nazi Germany pursued an international propaganda campaign accusing Polish officers of organizing ethnic cleansing of Germans living in Poland. The creative scheme was known as Operation Himmler, n...

George W. Bush quoted in results to 9/11, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve”. On September 11, 2001, there was a vicious terrorist attack on the United States of America. Al-Qaida a terrorist group from the Middle East, decided violate what America stands for: freedom, liberty, and the rights of men and women of all races, backgrounds, and beliefs. On the dreadful morning of September 11, 2001, they hijacked four US planes with knives and attacked the nation in a horrific way. Two planes hit the Twin Tower, collapsing both buildings in New York City World Trade Center. The third plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The last plane was going to crash into another building in Washington, D.C., but the passengers stopped the hijackers, and the plane crashed into a field instead. Throughout this horrific ordeal former president George W. Bush remain calmed, trying to draft out a plan of whom to blame for the attack. The Bush administration has a lot of dark secrets and connection to the Saudi’s before and after September 11, 2001. The United States government was warned prior the attack directly from Osama Bin Laden, in which the warnings were ignored.
September 11, 2001 marked one of the most tragic events in United States history. As a way to assure the safety and wellbeing of U.S. citizens shortly after being attacked by al-Qaeda, President Bush stated, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts may shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve”. Although President Bush was seen a source of security during a time of need, many citizens felt that his words were not genuine and part of a dramatic story the government wanted its people to believe. Despite the side taken, both perspectives of the argument can agree that the U.S. was attacked by a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda. On that Tuesday morning, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon, and the fourth into a field in rural Pennsylvania after passengers fought back against the terrorist to try and regain control of the plane. This is the story the government wants its people to believe. However, the truths about the attacks on 9/11 are much more frightening. On September 11th, 2001, the United States government betrayed its citizens by allowing the destructive attacks on the Twin Towers, WTC-7, the Pentagon, and Shanksville.
Do you ever wonder if what you think happened on 9/11 might not be true? There is some evidence that explosions were used to bring down the Twin Towers. Also, the planes that hit the towers could’ve never actually hit the towers. The government could have let it happen, or even made it happen. In this thrilling essay, I will break down the mainstream consensus of what some people think happened on 9/11, I will explain my personal beliefs on this topic too.
People come up with crazy ideas all the time, many of which are torn apart by scientific evidence. However, some ideas are crafted so precisely and detailed; they are accepted as fact by millions of people. These alternatives to accepted history are known as Conspiracy Theories, and the people who create them are of a special breed. It is difficult to imagine having the time and passion to craft an alternative reason behind many of the world’s events and tragedies, but these people are born to do so. There is a specific recipe for such a person, a carefully crafted powerful concoction that breeds the hatred for government and the quest for the “truth”. Such people have been around for thousands of years, crafting stories from the days of Caesar and Cleopatra, and now there is proof of how such people become Conspiracy Theorists. The financial comfort, military involvement and general adolescent social experiences along with ethnic characteristics cause persons to devote their lives to questioning government and becoming conspiracy theorists.
I viewed the documentary written by Bethany McLean and Peter Elkind, “The Smartest Guys in the Room”. This documentary helped me to gain a better understanding of one of the biggest scandals in the history of the United States. In this paper I will examine some main points of interest in relation to the scandal concerning the Enron Corporation. The documentary began with Peter Coyote narrating about the suicide of one Enron’s former top administrators, Cliff Baxter. Jeff Skilling, another former top administrator of Enron had a close personal relationship with Cliff Baxter. Skilling had alleged in a roundabout way that as far as he knows, Baxter killed himself due to the significant struggles of Enron. He also did not have the self-assurance
The Enron scandal in the early 2000’s was a major scandal that was hard to miss (Ferrell, Hirt, & Ferrell, 2009). Enron has once ranked a Fortune 500 company with a network of $111 billion dollars (Ferrell, et. al., 2009). Enron dealt mainly with energy, but they also had interest in communications and paper (Ferrell, et. al., 2009). Enron was confident in their earnings and financial reporting, but after a year of gaining interest, Enron caved in and filed bankrupt (Ferrell, et. al, 2009).
Several electric companies and gas companies that Enron owned went bankrupt and lost everything the employees worked for (Thomas, 2002). Even though these individuals were impacted directly, several governing bodies were impacted as well. The Securities and Exchange Commission and Congress changed their perspective on how they would monitor companies and evaluate their gains in order to not mislead the public of what their actual worth was (Thomas, 2002).In order for these entities to do a better, more accurate job, additional monitoring services became mandated where rules and guidelines were lenient. Enron rose to prominence in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s (Bragg, 2002).
The top executives of Enron were smart, successful individuals as well as the investors from the large financial institutions, corporate lawyers, and accountants from the largest accounting firm at the ...
In 2017, citizens of the U.S. consumed a total of 7.26 billion barrels of petroleum products, amounting to an average of about 19.88 million barrels per day. In Middle Eastern countries, oil exportation is heavily relied on by the population to support the economy, however it is one of the leading causes of issues. The Middle East is not all problematic, though, as some countries choose to spend their money on education. Disputes between countries over oil control spurs conflicts, and can lead environmental issues. Although there can be benefits, the Middle East has been more negatively than positively affected by oil.
Enron Corporation was an American commodities, energy, and services company that was based out of Houston, Texas. This corporation was founded in 1985, resulting from the merger between InterNorth and Houston Natural Gas, these were both moderately small businesses in the United States. Before Enron’s bankruptcy on December 2, 2001, it had nearly 20,000 employees and was one of the global leaders in the communications, electricity, natural gas, and pulp and paper market, with declared earnings of approximately $101 billion during 2000. Enron was termed “America’s Most Innovative Company” by Fortune for six years in a row. It was discovered that Enron’s stated financial condition was prolonged by established, inventively, and methodically planned accounting fraud at the end of 2001.
The amount of corruption within the United States’ violent involvement in the Middle East is almost unreal. Unfortunately, the wars have been too real—half a million deaths in the first year of Iraqi Freedom alone (Rogers). These wars have been labeled--the violence, filtered-- to fit a specific agenda. Whether the deaths are deemed an acceptable loss in the name of national security, or as a devastating injustice, the reality doesn’t change. Lives have been lost. Lives that will never be brought back. The intention of wars is in part due to attacks on the twins towers on September 11th 2001. When the buildings fell, almost three thousand people died, according
Fossil fuels are an important part of life. When you turn on the lights, watch TV, or take a shower, the electricity that you are using is being generated by fossil fuels. The three types of fossil fuels are coal, crude oil, and natural gas. They all take millions of years to form, so they are considered to be “non-renewable”- eventually, the fossil fuels will all be used up. One dangerous biological effect of using fossil fuels is ocean acidification. Extracting and transporting fossil fuels can also be very dangerous. Environmentally damaging accidents such as groundwater contamination, land subsidence, and oil spills occur frequently. Global warming is another possible environmental effect. Fossil fuels have a crucial role in modern society, but since they are non-renewable and dangerous, we should reduce our dependence on them and explore alternative energy sources. Wind energy, hydroelectricity, and solar energy are some examples of renewable fuel sources. There are also many things that people can do everyday to save energy (and, in turn, conserve fossil fuels).
