The employment outlook for accountants and auditors is expected “to grow 11 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations.” (Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, 2105). As long as the economy is having a strong and healthy growth companies will need the workforce to keep up with the growth and accountants to inspect and prepare the financial statements. Honestly, this job does sound quite fun in a strange way that math sounds fun to people who love math, or history to a history lover. Things that can keep my mind engaged are very interesting to me, the stamina needed for a job like this and with needing to have an eye for details, persistence, and looking at things with an analytical mindset does sound like something I would want to do after I accomplish getting a bachelor’s degree and certifications in CPA and CFE. For some people they might say they ae interested in a job because they see dollar signs and that all they want. I will agree the pay for this job does make one want the job, but a person also needs to have the drive to do the job right and not just for the money. Keeping my mind engaged is what draws me to a career like this, the nice pay is just an added bonus if I’m doing something I like doing.
