Question 1: Describe a time when you have worked as part of a team. What role did you play and what challenges did you overcome?
In the last year of my schooling in grade 12, I was given a task along with three other boys to visit all the junior classes and collect information from the juniors about how the school teachers have helped them outside their classrooms and what extra had the faculty done that year to help the students. At first some boys were hesitant to speak upon this matter. So there was another task standing in front of me which was to tell everyone not to feel afraid and tell the truth as it would help to improve the faculty for the coming year. I was given this job because I have always had a nice bond with all the juniors of my school. The next day as all the boys gave their reports, my team was very impressed with my work because everyone had provided us with the right kind of information. The next day when our group did the final checking of the reports we found out that the number of reports received was the most as compared to the previous years.
Question 2: Describe a time you have had to organize something – a project, an event or a group of people. How did you plan and prioritize tasks?

Finance has always interested me because as a kid I would see my dad handling the business as well as the business accounts. He would always tell me that accounting is a very important part of business and every business man should be well informed about that department of finance. I think finance is suitable for me because I enjoy playing with numbers and have good analytic skills. I have always been interested in public accounting as I am a very outgoing person. According to me having done accounts you are in a better position than most of the other people working around you. It also compliments other professions regarding money. Choosing a career path that is right for you can be the most crucial decisions you make in your life. Not only is making the right choice important for the present, but it is especially important for your future. When choosing a career it is valuable to consider things such as growth potential, monetary benefits, strengths, weaknesses, and your happiness. By doing that it will help clarify the benefits and tradeoffs for each opportunity you are given. That being said, making such a weighted decision that will impact the rest of your life can be nerve-racking, extremely scary, stressful, and outright frustrating. I am very blessed to be able to attend Oakleaf High School, it is a modern and technologically advanced high school and any outsider who walks in can immediately tell that the teachers really do strive to see us students succeed. In my junior year, a fellow student came into the classroom and handed a few students a rolled up piece of paper that resembled a scroll. It piqued my interest because something like this never happens. She placed the last scroll in her hand on my desk and quickly spoke up, "This one is for you," I opened and read it immediately, it was an invitation to join the National Science Honor Society. I was elated at the chance to join something that meant a lot to me.
The career I wish to pursue is that of a stockbroker. I am extremely interested in the trading of stocks and financial holdings so the career of a stockbroker just seems to fit in with my overall plan. Numbers have also always been a fascination of mine and the trends of the economy and long term financial outlooks have often interested me greatly. Stock broking is a risky business that one needs to be prepared for highs and lows if choosing to pursue. You must understand what a stockbroker truly does to even begin to follow this as a life long career.
My God there are so many careers out there, who in the world can pick just one. That’s what’s been weighing on my mind heavily is what career is right for me. I’ve thought of a couple that interest me but I want to find out everything there is to know about a financial advisor. The reason that I’m interested in this field is how everything is the same when it comes to the actually math behind the career. Also I like to deal with people and money so a job as a financial advisor just seems right for me but I intend to find out as much as I can to make sure there’s nothing surprising or any kinks in what sounds like the perfect job for me.
My thoughts on this career have definitely changed after doing research into this career. I only kind of wanted to do this job but, when I was done doing the research I really wanted to go into this career field it is bizarre or fantastic. Now that I have information from researching, I am going to be putting guidelines together for success. The next steps are for me to start taking classes in high school that will go with this career. My interest in Accounting and Finance stems from wanting to understand how governments and businesses make their vital decisions to be profitable. Studying this degree, will allow me to gain an understanding of financial accounting, management accounting and taxation providing me with skills to analyse data and develop my decision making. Additionally being able to incorporate different aspects of business alongside the core modules; will give me more knowledge of the world of accounting and finance.
I spent most of my time in a first grade classroom. In this classroom I observed the children as well as the teacher and paraprofessional. This classroom had children with special needs and that is why there was a paraprofessional in the classroom for half the day. What I observed in this classroom was how children with special need should be handle and taught. The teachers in this room loves her job and each student in her class. While in the classroom the teacher allowed me to help with children with their work, read to them and help them with anything else that they needed. During this field experience I got to give back to not only a school, but to a community that is very near and dear to my heart. This was yet another teamwork-reliant activity. We spent the afternoon scrubbing and rinsing teachers cars, operating as a team to conclude the task. We had to work quickly in order to avoid the soap drying, and leaving a mark. Therefore, communication was necessary and we had to stay alert to avoid it. I felt content knowing that by simply washing my teachers cars, I could slightly repay them for all the time on school, providing me with an education.
