In the last five years, technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, particularly in the science and entertainment department. Instead, parents of the 2010s bemoan having to drag their child from their bedroom as they [children] turn to video games. However, there is nothing wrong with playing video games as it is considered a pastime in the same vein as reading or participating in sports. There is nothing wrong with playing video games as a way to socialize or to enjoy the story. Instead, when children play too much video games, they lead to addiction similar to that of alcoholics or drug addicts. While this is normal for gamers, non-gamers would be alarmed at this kind of behavior seeing as the psychological aspect of video games are akin to a compulsive gambler on the slot machine, a drug addict or an alcoholic. It is possible for children to forget about their homework and forgo sleep to finish their sessions. The problem with playing and addictive video game is that all types of players have trouble with time management. While most games would take an hour per session, games today require at least eight hours due to the size of the game world, especially regarding the open-world genre. Romeo Vitelli, a psychologist says that, “Adolescents (particularly male adolescents) seem especially prone to video game addiction through identifying young people who are vulnerable can be difficult given how popular gaming is in people of all ages.” It never helps that gaming is as popular as sports, but at least the latter is controllable. Certain genres are already infamous for being addicting, the most notable example being Candy Crush, Fallout 4 and Minecraft. While Fallout 4 may not be playable for younger players due to its M rating, the other two are accessible and are popular with everyone else. “Another negative aspect of video games is the fact that kids are spending too much
The movie Thor is about a young man who all he has dreamed about is becoming king of his home, “Asgard.” Thor is what seems to be a combination of a Viking with the power of lighting. Thor has a huge ego and at times thinks he is better than anyone else. While his brother Loki looks at him with great jealousy,
All addictions can be dangerous and harmful to the addicted person and others around him; however, video game addiction can be particularly detrimental to children. Video games are becoming increasingly popular with children of young ages, which in turn may raise...
Researchers, however, have found that gaming may not be completely bad for adolescents. A recent study by Paul J.C. Adachi and Teena Willoughby points out that video gaming may satisfy the same criteria for positive youth development as traditional organized activities such as sports, music or clubs. In direct contrast to this analogy, they demonstrate that there may be significant social benefits of gaming, that adolescents are motivated to play video games and that this type of play requires concentration and mental effort (Adachi and
Norse legend says that when Loki breaks free on the day of Ragnarok he will exact his revenge. He will show just how dark he is and what his twisted mind is capable of. On that day he will lead the giants and monsters into battle against the gods because of the torture that he was made to endure (“Loki”).
One of the most famous depictions of Norse mythology, in pop culture, is the movie Thor. Norse and Greek mythologies have both made their way into modern society. Yet, Greek mythology has a definite depiction of the afterlife while Norse mythology has no consistent idea of the afterlife. (McCoy, Daniel).
Many people do not believe there are benefits to playing video games. The majority of them are parents of disgruntled teenagers. These kids meet a wall of parental resistance each time they make an effort to get the ban against video gaming lifted in their homes. They have used every typical persuasive technique available to them; including a promise to keep their room clean and free of clutter for the remainder of their life. Kids learn best in the company of trusted adults. That is adults as co-learners and partners not as police. Instead of implementing a total ban against videogames in their homes, a solution may be found if the parents and their children would join together in a fact finding mission as co-learners and partners to actively research the vast amount of data about the positive and negative impact of video gaming on the behavior of youths today. This is a great united learning and social opportunity for families in general. The children will help the parents to get over the hump of unfamiliarity about video gaming and not as police officers in their own homes. Most importantly, information empowers parents at a time when kids' tech interests have become a key part of parenting.

The movie Thor is a modern epic and it shows how many things happens in the movie and how people can see it and hear it. Between all three of these epics they all have a couple things in common. The most popular of the Norse mythology gods is Thor, but do we really know a lot about him. Thor was the god of thunder and sky, just like the well-known god Zeus. Thor possessed a powerful hammer, Mjolnir, which is his symbol but also is his main weapon, which could summon thunderbolts. He also had gauntlets, Megingjord, which could crush boulders. His way of transportation was a “chariot moved by two big Billy goats” (Daly). That's just the widely known background of Thor; but there is a lot more people can know about this god.
Whether you were born in the 60’s or the 90’s, Marvel and DC comics have crossed your path in one way or another. You know the superheroes, even if you don’t religiously watch the movies or read the comic books. You hear about them all over the internet and when a new movie releases, the world screams in gratitude. You know the stories of how your favorites originated and how they came to their demise… again and again and again. When it comes down to it, you ultimately have a favorite. When you were a child, you declared a superhero yours. It could’ve been Spiderman or even Batman, or maybe you liked the Incredible Hulk as much as you liked Wonder Woman. With that being said, superheroes fight super villains all the time, but have you ever thought about who would win if Marvel and DC ever got into a fight? Not physically, but mentally; meaning, the story arcs, the art, the imagination and even the character development in the series.’ I mean, you have the Avengers against X-Men, I’m talking the Incredible Hulk against Superman. This is the ultimate battle of comic heads and I’m on the winning side.
A familiar, sinister voice reveled in Thor's shame, murmuring of the limitless possibility that was suddenly within Loki's grasp. Oh yes, the change was palpable, unmistakable in the hot fury in their father's eyes as he raged at his favorite son. And it was there in Loki's own weak protest, one he knew to be futile before it ever escaped his lips.
I have had to go through dark places to find this information. Both fan bases are filled with stupid “original characters,” Inappropriate content and angry arguments. As far as I can see, the DC fandom seems to be a little bit less terrible. DC seemed to have a little less angry fanboys and awful roleplays but more things I did not need to see. Both deep fandoms are terrible places and I hope to never see them again. So that point goes to DC. “Who else thinks Miles x Gwen is absolutely stupid? If you like this ship then...just no...Peter x Gwen all the way!!!” –Marvel Fanboy on Amino (Reddit,

Several years ago, technology and child’s play were not such as extremely developed as today. Thousands of teenagers have video game as their primary form of entertainment at home. The disagreement about violent video games is because they focus on several subjects such as violence scenes, pornographic content, racism and other resources. For many years, researchers have been debating if video games can cause dependence or not. However, an expert, Jack Flanagan believes video games have a really negative effect on a person’s life and even for children. Jack states that video game addiction exists, and can have the same effects as drugs and alcohol (Netzley 36-37). This shows that video game addiction can be like other addictions
