If there came a school where there was absolutely no music allowed, the school would burn down in chaos. Some may think that music during school may be distracting and won’t allow the kids to study, but it actually does the exact opposite for most students. Based on this article from St. Viator High School, many people think that music takes stress off their mind by focusing on something else, such as work (“Student’s Thoughts”). It helps the students concentrate, and keep their mind off of distractions. Whether the kids sing or just simply listen to it, there are numerous benefits that come with music. The sheer amount of hours and work you have to put into school is absurd and can make school very rough at times. A way that many students try and deal with the stress is through music. Many students like to put in headphones while they are studying to help them stay on task and focus while they are studying. They use music as a sort of an escape from reality to get away. It allows them to block out what may be going on in the real world to really sit down and finish their work. Daily schoolwork, tests, and even extra curricular activities can be emotionally draining. Students are constantly swamped with a variety of different assignment that just keep adding to the enormous amount of stress that already exists. Music will help ease the stress, and help the students conquer the assignments. Depending on the student, the type of music affects them in different ways to help them relax. Due to their different life and music experiences, the type of music varies from person to person (“How Students”). It’s more of a personal choice, and what puts the student in more of a positive mood. Different types of music can relieve stress, increase productivity, and maximize the student 's focus (“How Students”). All of these are beneficial for students, and will inspire them to do the best they can in school.
