I have always believed that there are Pros and Cons for every situation, because nothing will ever be perfect. Mobile media devices such as phones, laptops and tablets have been characterized as harmful to our society by many people which in many cases can be valid, but they have also contributed to this society in positive ways. That is why I strongly believe that mobile media devices have had a positive and also negative affect on industries such as music, television and movies. When most of these industries became aware of the rise of mobile media, they thought of and created ways it would be able to benefit them. With the rise of mobile media it has definitely shifted the attention of many. One main factor are apps that allow the streaming of TV shows, such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. These apps have been deemed as a threat to the TV industry because of all that is offered compared to television. Although apps on smartphones have taken away viewers, mobile media devices, especially phones in general have had positive and negative effects when it comes to the TV industry. More people rather be on their phone than watching TV, an article from MarketingCharts stated that phones are winning and traditional television is losing when it comes to viewers between the ages 18 to 34. On the contrary some people watch TV because of incentives that are promoted through phones for example shows promote live tweeted or taking selfies while watching and it may end up on TV, this has raised ratings for TV. "The Smartphone Is Eating the Television” by Matthew Ingram stated that “ 11% of TV watchers reported social media caused them to watch more live TV”. The impact of mobile media to the TV industry is neutral, and so is the industry’s influence on society. Mainly because sometimes it promotes violence and bad behavior which has influenced many young people to believe that 's acceptable but many times it has created an source of education and learning.
