As our society advances and adapts, we continue to come across many social issues. We have just recently abolished slavery, but the after effects of racism still exist, making life difficult for those of color or immigrants in specific areas of the country. Racism is just a small part of the adapting 'American Culture ', there are many other sociological issues; the one I will be discussing is 'Fast Food '. Today 'Fast Food ' has taken over the West, it is literally embedded in the Western Culture and without it many Americans would be confused. Fast Food has been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years, it 's said that the indulging little restaurants can be linked to urban living in Ancient Rome; now that was a long time ago. So the industry has been around for a long time, but let 's focus on America. The Fast Food industry is strongly correlated with the invention of the car, because most people assume 'Fast Food ' is anything served out of a window and into a car. Contrary to what many believe, Mcdonald 's was not the first fast food chain, in fact it was White Castle. White Castle opened in Wichita, Kansas, in 1916. The roots of this unhealthy lifestyle are so embedded in our culture, and because of that the younger generation is exposed to this addiction. Nowadays, there are at least 50+ Fast Food Restaurants within a 5 mile radius; making it difficult and temptatious to many Americans.
