TEvery child is unique and has the potential to learn. A teacher’s personal education philosophy creates a path for his/her approach to help students meet their fullest potential by believing in them as capable individuals. My genuine interest in children motivated me to pursue not only a career in education but a commitment to life long learning. I believe that it is a teacher’s responsibility to promote self esteem and guiding the students in their learning path by providing education in an environment that is safe, supportive, and inviting.

Special education is the field that covers a multitude of abilities and disabilities by focusing on individual strengths and needs. By pursuing my career in the field of special education I have the privilege of helping students with diverse needs to reach their fullest potential.

Instructional Support for Learning and Classroom Management

Teachers should consistently ensure that the students are actively engaged and involved in the learning process. Teachers should thrive for the quality of instruction and it is always the result of sincere effort of the teacher in executing the lessons skillfully (Miller, 2009). The classrooms now are more ethically and linguistically diverse with different learning challenges. Differentiation in education is the best practice in all kinds of educational settings. Selecting and integrating instructional models are very important when teaching a diverse group of learners (Miller, 2009). Instruction should not be planned based on the disability or inability but should be focused on the ability of the student. I plan to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies that enrich the educational environment. With the knowledge of graduate course work in special education, I will select and develop instructional content that is responsive to diverse needs and abilities. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are carefully developed based on the learning needs of the students which guide the special educator’s instructional strategies.
