The solution to our lack of proper education is not easy. It requires an overhaul in the culture of the church. Yet, in order for the church to survive, this overhaul must take place. It all begins with teachers properly educating their students. Teachers have a great responsibility to not only teach the truth, but to also teach it effectively (Jas. 3:1). Our class sessions have showcased numerous avenues a teacher can travel to accomplish effective teaching.
Effective teaching starts with the three aspects of learning: cognitive, emotional, and volitional. Teachers must engage the thinking, feeling, and doing side of their students in order for education to have an effect. Another educational method that should be utilized is discovery learning. This forces students to come to the answer on their own rather than being spoon-fed by the teacher. Overall, the most important part of effective teaching lies in the Master Teacher Himself: Jesus. Educational theories and methods do not have much value if they are disassociated from Jesus. Teachers must look to Him in order for our instructions to be profitable.

.... If I am, then I ignore Paul’s condemnation of the hypocritical Jews (Rom. 2:21-23). It is all about obtaining Christ-like integrity. Perfection is not reasonable, and mistakes will be made. Jesus did, after all, know what was in man (Jn. 2:25). I must still try to mature and grow in Christ so that I may reflect Him in every part of life (Eph. 4:13).
The church is in desperate need of revival. There are many congregations who are currently stagnate. The lack of proper education is a major contributing factor to this. The methods that this class has taught me will go far in solving the issues that the church faces. It may take several years to implement these solutions and solve the underlying problems; but, we must not lose sight of who we are working for. God expects us to do better, and I sincerely hope that is what I will always try to do in my educational work.
