Throughout history education has been a privilege rather than a right. So many people were denied even a basic education and the common man had absolutely no way to obtain an education or to even learn new skills through reading because illiteracy was the norm rather than the exception. Today education is a right granted to each and every person, and one we take for granted all too often, but I believe that education is the key to success and it is through education that we can reach our goals and achieve our dreams. Everyone deserves the chance to increase their knowledge and understanding of the world through education. As a teacher, my goal is to help my students gain an understanding of the material that’s being taught, not just so that they can pass a test but that they have the tools necessary to work problems out for themselves. I want to inspire my students to have a love of learning, to maximize their potential, to use the critical thinking skills that they learn in the classroom to teach themselves new ideas and concepts outside …show more content…

I believe everyone is capable of learning given the proper support and tools for success. I believe education can inspire greatness. I believe education can change the world. I want to be a teacher because I want to be part of that change. I want to be that one person who believed in my students, the one who told them to dare to dream, and the one who showed them how to persevere and claim the victory. I want to be a teacher because what a child learns in the classroom can touch every area of their life and when they become an adult they’ll take what they learned and spread it out into the world.
