Education is the foundation for progress. The creation of education has led many people to become more self-aware of themselves, and the world around them. It has led many people to higher levels of thinking, and brought us some of the greatest minds in human history. These intelligent minds have proven to the world that education is important, as it has led them to new and creative ideas that have enriched their lives for the better.
Education has enriched the lives of many, as it has given them a new found sense of self-awareness. In “Coming into Language”, Jimmy Santiago Baca writes, “Through language I was free. However, school is not the only place we can go to get an education. In his book “Learning To Read”, Fredrick Douglass writes “The plan which I adopted, and the one by which I was most successful, was that of making friend of all the little white boys whom I met in the streets. As many as I could, I converted into teachers. With their kindly aid, obtained at different times and in different places, I finally succeeded in learning to read”. Douglass is affirming that he learned to read by befriending the kids he would meet in the streets throughout the day. We learn many things from many places, whether it is through our family, friends, a private tutor, extracurricular classes, or many other ways, people educate themselves through experience, not by going to a specified location for twelve years. Having different view points, and a vast amount of knowledge allows us to do more with ourselves, opening the door to new forms of entertainment, better confidence and better jobs. With more access to education, it can help people in the lower class to develop vital skills, such as learning a new language.
Learning a new language is something that comes with being educated. When you learn a new language, your not just learning a new way of speaking. You are also learning about the place in which the language comes from, which not only gives you insight into the people, the history, and the culture, but also helps to make you stand out of a crowd when it comes to job opportunities. However, if there is one thing employers look for in all their workers, it would have to someone who can manage a crisis.
Managing a crisis is a trait that only educated people will have. An educated person is skilled at looking for the pros and cons of a situation. With this, they are good at making calm, rational decisions during a crisis, as they know that must not only make a decision that will benefit themselves, but one that will also benefit the people around them as
