Eating Comfort Food
There is a powerful connection between the foods we eat and psychological aspects of consuming food. While on the surface it might seem to be harmless, or maybe even beneficial, to have comfort foods, it can lead to obesity.
In Alexandra Sifferlin study’s shows that we don’t only like food because it has a tasty flavor but also because it make us feel less lonely. “Research suggested that we associate food with happy memories.” (Sifferlin, 2015) This research indicates that this occurs mainly in the summer season, which we call nostalgic eating. People don’t only eat food because of the taste, habit, satisfaction, or even boredom, but also for serenity.
