Many people believe that Global Warming is a topic that has been used to “scare” the public into living greener. Although there is nothing wrong with wanting people to use less energy and put off less pollution, creating a worldwide problem to benefit your own cause is wrong. The most respected scientific bodies have stated unequivocally that global warming is occurring, and people are causing it. The only real debate is about how fast warming will occur, and how much damage will be done.
As a result of human activities that produce heat-trapping CO2 and other greenhouse-gas emissions. The greenhouse effect is a process by which thermal radiation from a planetary surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases, and is re-radiated in all directions. Since part of this re-radiation is back towards the surface, energy is transferred to the surface and the lower atmosphere. As a result, the temperature there is higher than it would be if direct heating by solar radiation were the only warming mechanism.
Greenhouse gases greatly affect the temperature of the Earth; without them, Earth's surface would be on average about 33 °C (59 °F) colder than at present.
Between 1961 and 1997 the world's glaciers lost 890 cubic miles of ice. Climate-change skeptics like to point out that a few glaciers are expanding, but scientists conclude these are isolated cases, resulting from heavier-than-usual regional snowfall. The overwhelming majority of glaciers are still losing ice at an alarming rate. The IPCC estimates that melting ice caps and glaciers accounted for about 25% of sea level rise from 1993 to 2003.
In addition, the massive ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica are losing ice. Over the 20th century sea level worldwide rose by ...

HEY!!! GUYS!! its not a LIE or something! ITS true...!! We all ruined our Planet that much. Its our fault.
We are the ones who have to look for our Planet, like the Planet looks after us.
We are the ones who can find a solution.
We are the ones who live in this World we have to care for our "Mother Earth".

This quotation opens your eyes, I know of no one who wants to destroy the earth either. The majority of man kind doesn’t think too much about what is happening to the earth due to their actions. When most of us drive a car or spray deodorant we don’t think of the consequences. It is the responsibility of those who create problems to help fix them and prevent them from happening again. In society today it i...
However, climate change is happening. The global average land and sea temperature has increased over the twentieth century, with the North and South Poles being particularly affected (Learmonth, et al., 2006). In turn, this has caused ice cover to decrease and sea levels

Humans can not be the only thing that is hurting the Earth. When you really think about it, Earth goes through a lot of natural disasters, which cannot be controlled. According to an activist, Tim Haering, “Tsunamis, floods, volcanoes, earthquakes, tornadoes, wildfires, disease nature kills more than we kill each other.” Earth throws in all of these natural ...
For a majority of people, it isn’t new news that the Earth’s climate is changing and increasingly getting warmer. For quite some time now, people have been arguing about what the actual causes are and what role humans have played in the current condition of the earth. A good bit of people seem to be in agreement that due to the actions of humans, the earth’s climate is increasingly getting worse and that if things don’t change, than everyone living on earth will be facing the consequences. However, this is not entirely true. The fault of climate change does not fall solely on the shoulders of mankind, but on the earth as well.

The greenhouse effect results from the heat energy of sunlight being absorbed by the Earth and molecules in the Earth's atmosphere ( Figure 1 ) . This energy is usually radiated back towards space. However, as we change the gases in the Earth's atmosphere as the results of everyday living, this energy is unable to leave the Earth's atmosphere and is trapped as heat. The heat causes a gradual warming of the air around the Earth. This warming is known as the greenhouse effect.
Scientists appear to have become aware of the issue of rising sea levels in the mid to late 1980s. An article published in Science News in 1987 predicted that “global warming… will cause… the world's oceans to expand, raising the average sea level by 4 to 8 centimeters in the next 40 years” (Monastersky). Though 4 to 8 centimeters sounds like a miniscule amount in relation to the vastness of the world’s oceans, this early article disturbed many readers. Many for this reason: early stud...
Greenhouse gases cause the radiant heat of the sun to be trapped in the Earth's lower atmosphere, which causes global warming. If there weren’t any greenhouse gases, the earth would be really cold due to very little sun rays being absorbed into the earth. Global warming can and will lead to several problems that affect the environment in which we humans live. These problems can lead to warmer temperatures all around the world, it can endanger animals and the wildlife, and it can lead to widespread flooding from the glaciers melting. Here are a few more future effects that I will discuss in more detail.
...and consume. The earth isn’t getting any bigger or more abundant- so it’s up to us to take care of it.
There are many different views on whether global warming is actually real or not and possible catastrophic damage it causes. It is a big issue in politics now, everyone is arguing whether or not it is actually real or that it is just a weather pattern. People need to wake up and realize that it is real, just look at the shorter winters and the warmer weather. The Glaciers are melting, crazy weather patterns are happening, so what else could it be? We have more things to worry about as a government though.
Background and Audience Relevance: There are always conversations about our planet. We see our earths glaciers melting, weather temperature rising, and pollution affecting our resources. But for some reasons we tend to look away. We should be more aware of this potential event and I’m here to inform everyone about what actually is global warming and the effects of it.
While critical of global warming alarmism, this documentary does not doubt that the earth is warming. Instead, they claim that scientific evidence demonstrates that such warming is but a natural variation in earth’s climatic history, similar to the Medieval Warm Period of the Little Ice Age. The documentary uses several lines of evidence to back up this claim, including ice core data that they claim when rightly interpreted shows carbon dioxide as having a lag time when earth’s climate has warmed in the recent and distant past, making it doubtful that it could be responsible for the increase in temperature that has been observed recently. The timing of the recent warming, which was most pronounced in the late Nineteenth Century through World War II, stopped and reversed to a cooling trend in the mid-Twentieth Century, and then rapidly warmed again in the past three decades, is dissected. Since this warming began before the advent of major human sources of greenhouse gas emissions and the period of most dramatic industrial...
We all belong to the same world and all of us have the same responsibilities towards the world and its environment. This fact might be hard to digest, but if we continue to pollute the Earth at the current rate, all of the world’s ocean waters will become one-hundred-thirty percent acidic. This means that the ocean will be unable to sustain most of its marine life and only a few creatures will be able to survive in the water. A big population of people think that they do not or have few responsibilities towards the environment. People think that the governor of a country should take steps to help the environment. They leave it to scientists since they have the technology to prevent pollution, or that is what most people think. There are more responsibilities to the world each individual has than most of realize. The amount of negligence and ignorance of humans towards the Earth is taking a heavy toll.
