1. In the early formation of the American nation, English influences predominated in shaping basic institutions like language, law, politics, and economy. Why were American Indians or other ethnic groups unable to exert similar influence? (300-400 words) In the early formation England was consider an “industrlised place”. They already had technology and advances that had not made its way over to America before the settlers came. The people living in the States before the English had their our traditions and way of doing things and seemed to be content. In my opinion, we never treated the American Indian people fair. We came into their country with weapons that almost wiped out their people, stole their land and pushed them into a cornor. I feel that we did the same when we expanded West. We pushed the Mexicans away. The other day I was listening to a Donald Trump prostor that said “this is my country first, you came here and took it away from us, I want it back”. He was in California protesting. Even now, there is hatred towards us because we created laws, demanded the same language, and change pretty much peoples way of living when we arriaved. Getting back to the question though, we were more advanced, I still believe we still are more advanced than many countries and othe countries can’t compete with all the technology, economoic knowledge, industries that we have here. I also believe that when the settlers came to America, they had some goals. They wanted to settle and make money and be free. I think a lot of people in England were sick of being forced to work and having their money taken away, being told who and when to worship, and I think they fought so hard for America because it was their ray of hope. Providing one langua... ... middle of paper ... ... men who want to provide for their families out of busniness. I do not think that this fair or be allowed any longer. I understand the concept of competing for business but how can you compete with someone who chargers $10 an hour incomparsion to someone who will charge $50 an hour. You just can’t compete which is so sad. When I was in California I also noticed the school districts getting worse. The education system had to adapt to students who come from different countries and need extra support but they can’t afford to so that child can’t progress and will drop out. I seen that way to often where kids would be left behind because of a poor budget. I also noticed that when you drive in LA different parts of town are marked as territories of different racial groups. You have the blacks, white, and Latenio’s fighting for blocks in LA. Its scaring to drive there now.
