In the article “Don’t Blame the Eater” by David Zinczenko, he had said, “But most of the teenagers who live, as I once did, on a fast-food diet won’t turn their lives around: They’ve crossed under the golden arches to a likely fate of lifetime obesity.” This part of the article was talking about how once teenagers get in the habit of always eating fast food, that it is very hard to break that pattern. Although healthy foods can be found, many people are making poor choices because they would rather have something cheap and easy. Well that had been my lifestyle for awhile; when I had been in middle school all my family and I would eat was fast or processed foods. Once it had hit me in my freshman year of high school, how unhealthy I had become, I knew that it was time to change what I ate and to start exercising.

First off, is how many teenagers actually don 't realize how poorly they may be eating. Which is a scary concept to think about, because no one wants to admit that they are overweight or even obese. Plus with the amount of fast food restaurants all around the United States, it is such easy access for anybody, and a cheap way to feed families. Which was how my family had been living throughout my middle school education, and it was a horrible feeling when I couldn’t keep up with any of my girl friends. Even in volleyball, when I had played for the Pau-Wa-Lu team, I was a good athlete but I hadn’t been at the best of my ability.

Although fast food had been an option for my family when our budget had been tight, it hadn’t been the best food to turn too. Due to the fact that, no one really knows what is bein...

... did that it increased my stamina and made me feel like I could take on anything without fear. Plus it was such an incrediable feeling to know that all of those health problems, such as diabetes and some cardiovascular diseases (CVD), wouldn’t be in my future.

In conclusion, consuming food products from fast food resturants, or even processed foods can be good on occasion, but no one should ever rely on having those products daily. With all the health issues that come with injesting these products it isn’t worth destorying your body over. This had been a huge realization for me, and once people become aware of the foods being put in your body, it definetly changes how you eat. Plus it helps to get out and be active, as much as possible because that is how all the calories burn. In the end, which is better, a long healthy life or a life full of medical bills?
