The attributes of angels I choice were, God created them, they do not die, they have no sexual orientation, they do not receive salvation and angels stand in the presence of God. The angel’s primary activity is to do the will of God. Satan has many names; I will describe adversary and deceiver and the devil. The four biblical truths of Satan are that he is a tempter, the evil one, he is our enemy, and he is the supreme deceiver. To fight the ways of Satan, I must walk daily with God, in His word, in prayer and thought and deed.

Paul Little tells us “Angels were created by God” (Little, 2008, p. 150). I know this because I know God created all things including all beings. In Colossians 1:16 it states, “For by him all

One of those is an adversary. The dictionary tells us that an adversary is one’s opponent in a contest, conflict or dispute. I believe that Satan is in constant conflict with God. We read in Luke 8:12 that, “the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved” (NIV). He wants what God has and will do everything in his power to tempt God’s people to come to his way of thinking. Satan is a deceiver. He proved this in the garden by deceiving Adam and Eve into sin by making them doubt that God has their best interest in mind. The last name for Satan is the devil. According to Little, this is “the only other proper name” (Little, 2008, p. 159) given to Satan. Revelation 12:9 gives a good description of the job Satan wants to do when it states, “that ancient serpent called the devil or Satan, who leads the whole world astray”

He tempted Adam and Eve; he tempted Cain, He tempted Jesus Christ among others. As a believer, I take heart in I Corinthians 10:13 which tells me “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so you can endure it” (NIV). Satan is called the evil one. Jesus gave us, in His prayer, words that we can pray in the face of evil. We read “and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6:13, NIV). Satan is our enemy. He was the enemy of the first man and continues as our enemy because he does not want us to be God’s children. I Peter tells us, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (NIV). Satan is also the supreme deceiver. He began by deceiving Eve and has not stopped since then. II John 1:7 tells us “I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Ant such person is a deceiver and the antichrist”
